Do You Do This? There's An Opportunity With Every Product You Purchase...

There's a lot of threads on the forum that talk about how much "junk" there is out there.

But let's talk about some opportunity or angles you can take. You don't need to be dedicated to the IM/MMO niche to make these things work...

Everyone buys stuff for their business, but very few people leverage that purchase into something more.

A few thoughts I'd like to throw at you...

1) Purchase products through affiliates - Want to build a relationship with someone quickly? Make them money. Let the affiliate know you purchased from them/through their link and get on their radar.

Trust me, marketers are WAY MORE likely to help people who purchase products through them. Don't abuse the relationship but leverage that relationship by asking them questions pertaining to your own business, gain some additional insight, or use that as a contact point if you're launching a product of your own.

2) If you're happy with a product, tell the creator - Most product creators only hear from buyers who have issues. If you're happy with a product, reach out to the creator and you'll instantly stand out. Write/shoot a testimonial for them they can use which will give YOU more exposure.

Since you have intimate knowledge of the product grab your own affiliate link, shoot a quick video, upload it to YouTube, and at least put yourself in the position to make money. Heck, you may even get their next product for free as they will identify you as someone who can be good for their business.

It's important that you're building the right kinds of relationships. Product creators and affiliates are where the cash flows and you want to be in that equation, get on their radar.

3) Buy the developers license - I know a guy who makes an extra $800 to $1200 per month offering a service installing, activating, and customizing a plugin he purchased developer rights to. The vast majority of people aren't technically inclined.

If you purchase a plugin or theme, get to know it inside and out, then offer it as a service. The Warrior Forum is actually a great place to list a service like this if you don't want to be working for pennies on Fiverr, list it in the Warriors For Hire section.

Or, offer your service in the Warrior Classified section and if people don't want to purchase your service, include an affiliate link to the plugin, theme, or software so they can purchase it themselves. You make money either providing the service or get an affiliate commission ()

4) Develop an addon - Right now in JVZoo and W+ you see people offering 'addons' in the form of templates, packages, etc to top selling products. Since you know the main product, try to identify some problem other purchasers may be experiencing and solve that problem or give them more resources to use which will help them achieve a greater result with that product.

Or, a product like Google Sniper 3 is popular right now, create a report you can give away to build your list in the form of additional "secret" steps to make the course more effective. (this will be a higher quality list as you've identified people who are "buyers"). Maybe you even outsource the building of a theme specifically for the course and sell it or use it as an affiliate bonus.

There was one product creator I know of that was approached by his customer about designing some addon flyers for their offline course. They partnered up 50/50 and they both made a ton of money from the buyers, then went on to put it in their funnel.

5) If the product sucks, then give your opinion - Honestly, I never liked this approach, I rather just keep my mouth shut, but if you're a lone wolf type, even products that are crap can make you money or build your list.

During big launches there's a lot of searches taking place. Get some of that traffic and turn people onto a different product than the one you purchased that was crap and earn commissions or review the product and instead of linking to it, link to your squeeze page and get people on your list.

Those are just some things off the top of my head...

Very smart points. This is advanced marketing, which most people do not even think about.

I guarantee you, there's a ton of people out there that would be much further ahead by doing these things.

      GREAT post Mark, really.

I'm with you in that I generally keep my mouth shut if something isn't great,
but I often do follow up with the creators of good stuff I pick up.

As you mentioned, it's a really good way to get on people's radar.

Awesome. Yes, the more you can connect with the people "in the money" the better off you'll be.

You never know what they can do for you and your business down the road. Crazy things can happen by making just one connection. I've seen it play out many times...
