Hi all! Newbie looking for some guidance in product creation :)

Hi all!!

Look I'm pretty new around here but would love your opinion on a couple of things. I'm creating a product in let's say the animal niche. It's a ebook or with added bonuses of extra books.

1. Firstly I'm 90% complete in making my product and I just found a very similar product. I know or I have read that this doesn't matter too much but wondered if anyone had any guidance on what things to look for to make the product a standout over the other product. There are things that I have noticed already like the crappy website and not many blog posts, no email optin, crappy sales page, things in books that I can see(yes I bought to check competition) general formatting and ease of use. But besides that I wondered what things I can do to make my product be a "wow" instead of "that was ok" and what sort of things I can look into? As it's quite similar as I said.

2. Second I can't really think of another back end product to sell after this one as in this niche I can't really offer high end consulting or anything. Will this just come along after I have done it for a while or should I just create this project, market it, affiliate it and do general upkeep on the site but move on to a new project?

Sorry I'm sure some of these questions are dumb but would just love some feedback or knowledgeable opinions anyone has! Thanks

If you add more value to your product, you have a better sale page and you promote your product better, you should be able to overcome competition. Release your product on Clickbank or JVZoo to get more exposure and affiliates.
If you can also offer some extra bonuses with the product will be great.
If you have a good product and if there are not many similar products in your niche, you shouldn't worry too much about competition.

You don't have to worry about competition providing:

    1. You have a compelling sales page with excellent copywriting and attractive product images

    2. You have good support for affiliates through a JV page that has product images, email swipes and banners and even a brandable report that affiliates can give away

    3. You capture your visitors email address before they leave to add them to your list

There are a lot of products out there that don't have a back end yet. That can come later. The main thing is to get your product launched.

Then you need to publicize it with press releases, a 'proper' launch on the JV sites and some forum marketing of your own to build awareness.

    Hope that all helps.

For me, a product (or anything where I am there to learn) will make me go "wow" if it has actionable, usable content. Something that I can implement. Something simple that made me go "now why didn't I think of that".

If it has some of those elements then I will work on the actionable content. The parts that require a little extra work.

Could you have a vet read over it? Or someone of authority in that animal knowledge to give you a testimonial or at least some extra feedback to add as much value in your book as possible?

If you don't really have any high end product to follow up with, can you somehow incorporate a membership section of some sort? Maybe a 3 / 6 / 12 month where you give the member (something... tip of the week?? I don't know!) each fortnight or month for that period of time. All the best with it!

I think that if you want to be better than your competitor you should have a relationship between you and your audiance and if you don't have an audience you should invest someone to get some and then that relationship will be something that makes you different.

Great help guys!!! Thanks so much for your input! I think a lot of this is all just so new to me that it's hard to understand all of the different aspects that make up a great product and "actionable content" seems to be the key here! As I can really see that even in my experience without having a actionable resource it's nothing as there is so much info out there and cutting through that is key! Once again thanks and I'll have to search around for the jv / affiliate/ click bank side of things as I have no idea how to create that sort of content! Also the vet idea is great I'm going to have to look into that asap! Sometimes the ideas are right in your face... Lol... But like everything I'm super willing to learn for y'all as you are the guys in the "trench" so to speak and I really appreciate your input!!!

One good option either for a bonus, or backend OTO is to assemble resources related to your product and package them into a nice-looking PDF.

For example, let's say your infoproduct is in the 'animal/pet health' niche.

You could spend some time researching articles, top websites, etc., related to pet health, perhaps there are some free apps or other resources, etc., and create a "Best Online Resources For Pet Owners" - or whatever your niche is.

I love all your ideas! And let's say the product in more in the animal health and maybe even food side of things( newly added). So do you think a resource package would really be a good option for a more expensive back end product?
As at the moment what I'm looking to do is this email optin with small report offered for free > create some articles on blog/ e- course in form of articles with ebook ($25-59) product promoted in the articles> offer the Book on sale or promoted with other bonuses for a limited time. This all in about 2 weeks of emails Etc but feel I need another backend product? Also does this funnel sound good?

Look at similar products in the market and see how you could improve over them. Also look for question and answers related to your niche to see what needs addressed.

I would say that competition is a good thing at one point. It develops the niche market and stimulates your personal development. Like you said you can see competitor's disadvantages and make your product better. And you can compare products in your sales letter so your buyers could see the difference.

You can set a competitive price. However do not undervalue your product. If it is way better than others on the market you probably should set a higher price and justify it to your customers again by a comparison.

To make your product "Wow" greatly depends on you. I guess product is "Wow" when it is to the point and not beyond the promise of the seller. I mean if it is exactly what I'm looking for and is exactly how it was advertized.
