Have I reached the limit to what my site can earn?

I have a reasonably successful information website that acts as a guide to a top London attraction. The website gets around 6000 visitors monthly and that is all from organic google searches. I don't advertise (tried with google and lost money)

I have a page on my site with an affiliate link for tickets to this attraction and this is my main money earner. This page gets around 50-60 visits daily or which around half click on the link and between 1-3 people purchase tickets. I get between £3-12 a day.

I appear at the bottom of the first page for my main targeted keyword.

My question is that given this is a very niche site, is this as good as I can expect to achieve? For reference for Americans, what would you expect a an information website on the empire state building to earn in affiliate commission if it was on the first page of google for 'empire state building tickets'.

Any advise would be most appreciated.

I would be curious what kind of social signals and local traffic your website is receiving. It might be possible to increase your rankings if you do some things to increase those signals. For example, have you tried doing some small Facebook advertising campaigns to promote your website? And have you tried getting an address for Google Local?

Do you have any traffic sources other than organic search traffic?

Have you connected it with Facebook and Google+?

Have you pinned your images to Pinterest?

Are you asking the visitors you have to Like and Share the site on social media?

Are you building a list from your Visitors? What about your Buyers?

    Hello,

Interesting and challenging question but it's one I've seen before and have a few things to offer as possibilities.

Perhaps one of the main avenues for new revenue would be offering advertising space on your website for local businesses; restaurants, hotels and tourist attractions. You can structure fees in accordance with the best space on your site in terms of viewership.

I see your site is about an attraction in London. Your site can be positioned to offer the advantage of 6000 visitors seeing the advertisements for those businesses. I would also suggest to interested businesses the offering of some kind of coupon/discount only available through your website.

Also explore the better hotels and accommodations in London and think about offering bookings as an affiliate.

With all that said, be careful about the number of ads and affiliate-related links on your site to avoid possible Google penalties that could adversely affect your rankings.

Another possibility is to put together your own guide and offer it with the aim to build an email list. Since this is London, I'm sure you can find something different; a guide to off-the-beaten sites in and around London. Make it unique, take your own pictures and make it yours.

London gives you a lot to work with which is to your advantage.

Maybe do some research and try to find out what the most popular attractions are in London, and surrounding areas, for tourists. Create dedicated pages for these attractions; take your own pictures and write something completely unique about them.

Then maybe see if you can find any of these attractions that are related somehow to the attraction you're making money with. And you can position them in a way that may capture the interest of the reader.

    Ken

Edit: I just did a Google (US) search for 'travel coupons London' and got some interesting results. You can put together a package of good quality coupons and also offer that as a 'bonus' for opting in to your email list.

Your title could be better organized for more traffic.

Your branding the website but wanting a better pay cheek , I think you need to work on the paying aspect of the website to earn more cash and more traffic then brand the website.

    example
YOUR TITLE META TAG, DOES NOT COMPLY WITH YOUR SALES
IN KEY WORDS , IT GOOD KEYWORDS IF YOUR ONLY WORKING ON THE BRANDING
OF THE WWW. WEBSITE NAME, BUT NOT FOR SALES, THE TITLE HAS BEEN
    OPTIMIZED FOR BRANDING...

    <meta property="og:title" content="A Guide To The Shard" />

HERES THE MONEY FOR YOUR WEBSITE THE DESCRIPTION META TAG ,
BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT TO LITTLE WORDED

TO GET YOU IN THE MONEY, THE OPTIMIZATION IS CORRECT BUT THE AMOUNT OF KEYWORDS USED
ARE LACKING , NEED MORE KEY WORDS BUT THEM KEYWORDS ALSO NEED REPEATING ON THE MAIN PAGE
    IT SELF AT LEAST ONCE.

    <meta property="og:description" content=" Tickets, Reviews and Facts" />

BRANDING AGAIN NOT REALLY NEEDED IF MONEY NEEDED.

You have made a grate website, and easily can be converted to
get thousands of hits a hour,

All you need to do is look up keywords relating to your targeted traffic, add more keywords to the discretion and title tags, and have that keyword on the first page of your website.

Get some video on the first page of the website to increase page indexing and position.

Get a blog going, point a link to the main page of your website.

Get a twitter account and write on it every day, what you doing to your website to
improve it , and point a link to your website each time you twit.

use google+ and add your website write about it.

do a you tube movie about your website link to main website.

that it hope you the very best sorry if any mistakes or you dont understand...

    Hey man,

With 50~60 visits a day to your website you have not even scratched the surface of the amount of income you can make. In theory, if you double your traffic you would essentially DOUBLE the money you make. So Instead of figuring out monetizing strategy, focus on building up your traffic.

Get on social media, find out where the people in your market are hanging out, slap on some ads on your page, start some advertising campagins, promote through forums & niche-specific networks and much more!

    Best of luck, dude.

    One word: Rent.

Let us say your website is about London bus tours. If someone lands on your website, looking for a London bus tour, they're liable to use your affiliate link to purchase a tour.

Let us say further that these very same people have interests beyond mere bus tours. Jack and Jill from Boston do indeed want to tour London, but they also want to go to the theatre, buy souvenirs, and - in short - do all of the things that the Jack and Jills of this world do while on vacation in London.

    How to monetize?

Send an email to each relevant local business and direct their attention to a page on your website where they can rent advertising space. Ah, but wait - only 6,000 visitors a month.

    - 6,000 targeted visitors.
    - 6,000 visitors who could each buy a souvenir worth $800.

This is a powerful business model if you take my advice, read between the lines, and expand it further.

If I was you, I would focus on increasing traffic from social media because Google always change. If you add advertising on your website, if Google does not like you anymore, you lose your ranking.

On the other hand, if people on social media like you, your fine as long as they keep liking you and as long as you keep getting their attention.

People are your source of income, Google is just a method that is fickle and prone to kick you out of the first page.
