Would Weebly Site Builder be ok to use for my product review website as oppose to Wordpress?

I am using HostGator and I was going to click on Wordpress but notice Weebly and looked at the tutorial and it seems pretty simple. Would choosing Weebly over Wordpress effect SEO for my website?

    Yes.

As long as you have your own domain-name, and don't have the "build a free website with Weebly" thing showing on your pages, of course!

I'm sorry to hear it. I'm using Weebly (among other places) as a host. I think they're a good and underrated hosting company. I think Hostgator is an awful one, since EIG bought it.

Weebly is much easier to use than WordPress.

Not in itself, but there are add-on gadgets available to help with SEO for WordPress sites, and they could be advantageous. But in principle, the CMS from which a site is built doesn't in itself affect its SEO. There are hundreds of people here who believe that "just using WordPress" gives SEO advantages because "Google loves WordPress". I have no idea where they get this nonsense from, but it's a widely held belief, and if this thread goes on for long enough, you'll probably be seeing it expressed a few times.

I think Weebly & Moonfruit are great platforms for users who want to build and manage their own sites.
Both are responsive and facilitate a lot of powerful apps.

Wordpress is an excellent platform also but for most users requires the support of a professional web developer ... even sometimes for basic page formatting etc.

All these platforms are SEO friendly and as long as you undertake basic good practice you should be able to rank.

I have a music site on Moonfruit (similiar concept to Weebly) that has many page 1 top 3 rankings for example.
