All writers where writing free and cheap content at one stage in their writing careers. Time is a great diluter of perception.

I doubt you will get any good quality articles for that price range if you negotiate a per article price. You can try elance.com, odesk.com, or I recommend craigslist.com, and try to negotiate a low rate per hour. You can easily find a college student that can type 75-100 words per minute that wants to make 12 to 15 bucks per hour at home.

Thanks for your reply. Have you tried CL yourself? Is there a way to know how many pords p/m someone can write?

I'm not talking Shakespeare here, these are product descriptions. All technical data and keywords are provided, as well as general tone and basic structure.

iwriter.com is quite good if you choose elite level. Once you have added your favourite elite writers you can usually get them to write for you at the premium price.

Nope, you'll never find a respectable and skilled writer who is willing to write articles for less than a dollar, especially if you want the articles to be of a good quality.

As Owenlee said, be prepared to get a bunch or plagiarized or spun articles if you want to stick to your rate.

I don't understand why people expect services to accept their low ball rates but still offer exceptional quality. Those two don't mix, you know?

I've also tried iwriter.com but you got to be very careful because there are a lot of people who would use best spinner or some kind of spinning software to re-write the articles within minutes you post your request. The quality of those articles are just plain BAD. I haven't tried Elite level so you might want to try that.

They don't. They take a generic article in the same area, spin it and insert your product name into it.

If that's all you can afford - or all you're willing to pay - you need to rethink your business model. Essentially, you want slave labor yet expect good quality. At that rate, you'll get someone who can't write well at all and whose first language definitely isn't English.

You need to adjust your expectations significantly. Offer crap rates and you're going to get crap, not quality.

How fast someone can type or write has nothing to do with writing quality articles. Most writers will charge based on the length of the article. Writing is a skill; of course, you don't want to pay for a skilled writer at the rates you're willing to pay. Do you really think it's reasonable to pay someone between $1 and $3 per hour? Because that's really what you are offering. Would you be willing to work for that level of pay?

Most efficient way is to test as many writers as you can, there are some hidden gems that work for less, especially when the topic appeals to them. I had some great writers only cause they enjoyed writing in that specific niche.

Im lucky that I'm in the position where I need a lots of link building content that doesn't have to be great, so from there I can pick my writers for money site content.

When you make use of iWriter, HireWriters and other budget platforms make sure to include very detailed instructions like the flow of the article, this way you prevent people being able to copy it from the web and spin it. It forces them to think what they write.

I think that's the best advice I can give you.

If you rely on cheap labor that might use shoddy practices, then you won't ever earn money. Your site could earn you so much more than those few dollars extra it would take to hire someone to write decent quality descriptions. Think of the long term investment and how all these descriptions can turn into money for you as that's what convinces the customer to buy.

Is this a serious question? I don't think you'd even find a horrendous writer who would write for that price. I've seen writer services advertising $1 per 100 words and I wouldn't expect much at that price, much less a 500 word article for $1. You'd be better off to buy spinning software and do it yourself because that's what you're going to get anyway.

You've probably heard it said 101 times, but if you want cheap quality write then Fiverr is probably your best bet.

Do a search on their platform for folk in the writing category who have a high rating, preferably with lots of positive feedback, top rated selling status and more importantly, are likely to meet your own requirements.

At that price you wouldn't find 'quality' pieces even on sites like Odesk or Freelancer.

Surely you are looking for writers from countries of non-native English speakers, like India, Bangladesh, etc, right? Only people from those countries can afford to write at this rate. I am not saying you can't find good writers, but you will have a hard time searching for such one.

The cheapest you can get real quality is to buy PLR. You might have to resource it a bit, or even do a little messing with it yourself, but as pointed out, probably endlessly in this forum..................real writers are skilled (read: spendy education).

One of the bad things about looking for people to support your business for nothing is that you will ruin your reputation as an intelligent business person. I'm degreed (linguistics) and used to teach writing and when someone asks me this question, there's not a chance I will ever take them seriously about anything again. There's one way to get what you need for nothing. It's called.....welfare. Writers and other professionals are not social services.

I'm sure you'll find writers in India who'll write for less than a dollar. In fact I'm dead certain. Check them out at Freelancer. But let me warn you, you're going to have to have them ALL rewritten...or hand them over to me to rewrite them for you. CHEAP is EXPENSIVE.

Yes, its true that Indian writers tend to charge lesser than say, an American writer, but that's primarily because they are not very good at writing quality articles. Any respectable writer who can write grammatically correct articles charges at least $5/100 words, even in India, unless they're new to the business and are trying to build their reputation. If they are good, and they know it, they charge a LOT more than $1!

$1/500 words is considered the lowest of the low rate, even for Indian writers, and most of the time, IF the article passes copyscape (and that's a BIG if), you'll pretty much won't understand a sentence of that article. I've read some pretty horrible articles where I couldn't understand what the writer was trying to say. I had to re-do the entire article, including the the research part (and no, I was not paying $1

).

I'm shocked people are trying to ANSWER this OP's questions.

You cannot get any level of 'quality' for $1 per article. You can't find out how fast someone writes - and that has nothing to do with quality or price anyway.

I suggest the OP write his own articles - that might provide a reality check.

I've used Odesk successfully for cheap writers before, and you can get some that are ok that are just starting out there and willing to work cheaply to build up a reputation.

But most of the time, at that price point the articles need editing, and they're never real quality. But ok for SEO purposes. I wouldn't use them for a website of mine though.

You have got to be kidding, you're going to get crap for $1 per article. I pay anywhere from $15 - $35 for my articles and press releases from a site that has a writer for hire section and these writers are mostly young journalists who write quality stuff.

You get what you pay for. What makes you think there are good, cheap quality writers. My experience with outsourcing this task has been disappointing. I could have originated better material, I think. The problem with outsourcing this is that it can be hard for the hired writer to assume your perspective on any matter and be able to convey it in words. My two sense.
