Fed up with Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal etc..
Funding a new groundbreaking OPENSOURCE CMS for IM products - For non-tech business owners and entrepreneurs.
Context and Problem definition: The current CMS and platforms in the opensource and commercial space have several shortcomings in terms of adoption and a long learning curve for regular non-tech business owners. Some like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal etc do fulfill the needs, but in a fairly roundabout way requiring a series of configurations, optimizations, custom modules, sometimes programming, theme mods and what not! To go to the next level the business owners end up spending anywhere between $500 to $25k+ to really get what they want.
Request to fellow Warriors: There are many pain-points in the usual CMS systems we use. Please do share what are the most important features/automations that should be there in a new custom made CMS for our IM market needs.
Takeaway: based on the feedback and feature requests posted here on this thread, would be investing in funding a new opensource CMS which would be free for all to use and would stay FREE and OPENSOURCE forever. All updates would be shared on this thread.
Aim is to have something which allows regular non-IT non-tech folks to set up a product relevant and quick online presence and have meaningful ongoing customer engagement, all in less than 10 minutes of their time.
So please do share what you would really like to have in it, to allow you to focus more on your business, rather than the technology. Or any pointers or guidance that you can provide based on your experience.
