I read the sticky posts but I just want to clarify this since I'm a beginner here.

This is what I got out of it:
I can link to my own website. I guess that also means I can link to my squeeze page.

And I can't link to other people's websites?

You can't use affiliate links, nope. Stick to web properties that you own and you'll be fine.

In your signature-file, yes; as long as you don't then make posts which draw attention to your signature-file.

Yes - if it's really your squeeze page that you made yourself (or had made for you) and host yourself, i.e. not a corporate one provided by a business of which you're an affiliate, or one hosted by them.

It's also generally allowed to link in signatures to things like your own Fiverr gig, your own book at Amazon, or a squeeze page hosted for you by Aweber or GetResponse - that sort of thing.

Not in any self-serving way; no. But you can link to "general information", e.g. on an authority site of some kind, if you think its information will help someone who's asked a question, and if you have no connection/affiliation with it, yourself.

Just experiment with your signature line to see what results in the most click throughs and find out what works best for you. It could take time but first you will need to establish yourself more fully within the community to become a valuable and contributing member that can be trusted and relied upon by others.

You can only promote your website in your signature only.

Well de facto nobody can know if the site that you are posting in your signature is yours or not, but as long as it is no affiliate link you should be fine.
