No More Editing Posts?

by 34 comments

I have a WSO running that has a limited number of copies going out and I've been editing the number remaining with each sale.

Well, today, I went to update it and the "edit" button is gone.

Can we no longer edit our posts?

This is going to create a bit of a problem with WSOs where the seller is only selling a certain number of copies and wants to keep the members updated on the number of copies remaining.

Is there a workaround for this other than creating a new post on the WSO thread saying "Only X number of copies left?"

You might only be allowed to edit a post a set number of times.

Here's a potential solution, I don't know if it will work - I'll test it in a minute.

Upload an image to your server saying - x remaining.
Link to the image within the forum (it doesn't copy it to WF's server, so the image served is from your server)
With each sale, edit the image and change the number.
Upload it again to your server (with the same filename)

It's not a pretty solution, but it is a solution.

    Kindest regards.

I'll make some images and test it.

Here's the test, I've uploaded an image with the number 1...

I'm about to edit it and change to 2... if my theory is right, it should automatically change when I upload it to my server.

      [edit]Yes, it works...

[edit2]Testing how many edits of posts are allowed.

[edit3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10]It appears there's no limit to editing capabilities on posts in the main forum... as I've not yet done a WSO here I can't work out the limitations.

I also tried to edit my WSO, and noticed the button was missing.

Although I do remember seeing the edit button shortly after I posted the I'm not sure if it only stays around for a limited time or number of posts perhaps??

    Are you sure about this?

I am running a firesale and haven't had any issues (outside of the fact that we can no longer use a strikethrough)

Did you click the edit button within the edit frame?

I was just able to edit my salesletter to reflect the number now available....sure hope this feature won't be removed.

Here is a thought...did you provide a "Reason For Editing"?

I'm wondering if maybe the forum has a "flood control" feature set on.

Maybe you can only do so many edits without providing a reason? Who knows.

I just checked again and my edit button still seems to be working within the post.

    1. Lack Of Strategy Many of the tools available to Internet marketers are either cheap or free. As a result, many new marketers are tempted to use them all at once. Successful Internet marketers begin with a strategy that identifies the goals of a campaign, the target audience and other key planning elements. Only then do they choose their tactics. Remember: tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.

Haven't Posted in a long while, been off of the scene on IM even longer. Can anyone offer some advice as to where to get restarted? I've made some income from Fiverr in the past by writing review articles, not sure if Fiverr is still a good platform though. Any help would be greatly appreciate also more than willing to become an apprentice and work for the knowledge, not the money.

After five years and almost one thousand projects, give it or take, I believe I have come up with a handful of more or less reliable signs that you're dealing with a bad client. I haven't reinvented the wheel, that's for sure. It's just like in that saying. Maybe I don't know what I want, but I certainly know what I don't want. The same goes here. Maybe I don't know how to find a good client, but I certainly know how to avoid a bad one. Also, I'm far from an ideal list. Sharing experiences regarding bad clients can help a lot. After all, we play in the same team. In addition, I strongly believe in Good Karma principle. Meaning, there's plenty of room and clients for everybody. Deal with real people not with avatars

When people think of the term copywriter they will often imagine someone sitting at home or at a caf, tapping away at a laptop and churning out good copy for their immediate employer whether it be a one-off project or a long-standing relationship between a publication (online or print) and the copywriter. Now that might often be correct, but there are different types of copywriters out there. Lets have a look at the main types.

The only way to handle having many massive daily goals is by doing them one moment at a time. Don't listen to the narrow-minded people who say that you have to focus on 1 thing and do it will at the expense of everything else. If you want everything, if you want to be financially successful, and healthy, and have great relationships, and be happy, and learn every day, and have family time and more, you're in luck, because you can have it all!
