I want to make a website. What should I make?

Hello,
I would like to make a website. My long term goal is to make $50 a month from it, that would be amazing!!!

But I'm not sure of what type of site to make. I DON'T want to make some shitty click bank or web site to only sell some product site.

Oh and before we start an argument or something... I really just want to make a site that get's traffic and pays for it's self and maybe pays for my coffee

Thanks

As predecessors told, the easiest way is to start WordPress blog. Chose the niche where you are familiar with...if you choose something you are passionate about, you are much
more likely to succeed. Choosing a blog topic you have little or no interest usualy don't work. When you are passionate about the topic, your blog content will show it. This is what readers are
    looking for.
Today you can create blog very easy.

You have the option of running a free blog through blogger.com, but I would not
recommend this method. I suggest you made good foundation, si chose a hosting and your domain. So this will also be taken more seriously .

Hosting companies have made it extremely simply for you to sign up for your own domain, web hosting and even going live with your blog in a single click...

If you will be persistent and consistent, you can expect traffic to your blog after 3 - 4 months. Then you can monetize it....

$50 a month should be no problem. Pick something really obscure but something that you're interested in at the same time. There will be less competition that way.

Then pick a product you can promote that you can fit into that obscurity. I'll give you an example. Since I'm into fitness I would pick something like "ectomorph diet plans" and build a simple WordPress blog around it.

Take a month or two to promote it and you should start seeing traffic after awhile. If your content is good enough they will link to you. I have an obscure diet site like I just mentioned (different keyword) and promote a different CB product on it. I hardly touch it and some months I do $300 with it.

I have people linking to me from Pinterest along with some natural search from Bing etc. That's why an obscure topic is better. You don't need a lot of traffic to make $50 a month or a little more.

So in my prior example, I would pick a product like "Anabolic Cooking" or something like that, offering recipes for skinny guys.

It takes a little planning and a bit of writing but if you're persistent it will work.

When you write your articles for your blog make sure that you share them to your facebook fanpage, pinterest, and twitter. And within a few months you'll be making more than $50/month.

Take a look at the iflscience.com or lifehacker.com they make well over $50/month and are just blogs.

Believe it or not, if you can make $50 per month, it isn't that much harder to make $5,000. It will take the same level of consistency and 'persistence' in the long run.

It's not so much your low income goal, it's what you will have to do in order to get your content seen, read and even shared.

I don't mean that making money online is hard. It's actually quite easy but it will seem hard for anyone in the beginning. Marketers don't start seeing good results until they get 'Momentum' going in their ventures.

There is a lot of stuff to get your head wrapped around in terms of knowledge and it takes a lot of 'action' to actually apply that knowledge in order to become successful and experienced.

But if you are not interested in making more, that's okay but just know that it won't be easier for you than someone who would like to replace their incomes entirely.

You probably don't want to make a career like most of the people who come into IM. Cool!

Just go get one of those free blogs like wordpress and weebly and start writing about your passion in life what ever it is. OR you can go out, pay for hosting (under $11 per month) and get your own wordpress blog with your own domain.

Put some adsense on it (adsense is free to join) start 'promoting' it.

This will still take some doing if you are brand new. I don't mean it takes a lot of work for the $50 to show up. If you are just using ads on your site to make money, fifty bucks can take a little while.

Ad networks like adsense pays too low for the amount of work that you need to put in. But if you don't mind hard work (the hard part sometimes is to get yourself to do the work) and you don't mind making low commission like you stated above, then adsense can be a good fit.

But if you had a product that paid out fifty bucks in commission (into your pocket), you could make that in 'one' sale.

    But understand this...

This is a process and it will take some work (lot's) to get visitors through the whole process and make that fifty bucks.

$50 a month is only one or two sales (depending on the product you're promoting). I also wouldn't be so quick to dismiss a site like Clickbank. There are a lot of quality digital-info products on there in a variety of niche markets. For instance, I've been working in the dating niche since April of this year and haven't had one refund.

With that said, there are lots of profitable niches out there. Making money online and dating are just two of them. You need to find a niche that you like (and one you know a little something about), so that it will be easier for you to connect with your audience. The first niche I was in was in the learn Spanish niche because I was a Spanish major in college.

    Good luck,
    Joey

50$ i guess is not enough money you can earn from your website.
    Ok i will suggest
    Purchase a domain and hosting
domain should be a TLD viz .com or .net for better rank.
Subdomain can not make your website worthy even if it is full of worthy content.
people often try to use wordpress.com as a website creator tool but wordpress.org is the right place where you can download wordpress and upload on your webhost server ot ftp server.

After uploading select the best premium theme just for free at templatism or templategraphy and then customize it according to your need.
You can start blogging or building your website content then.
Concentrate on the content as it should be unique and search engine optimized with right use of keyword.
Share it on your twitter page and facebook page along with google+ profile,
Create a youtube account of your website name and start making some video turtorials or any type of video content that matches with your website and upload them on the youtube channel.

Create a blog and write about something you love.

Write one article per day (you can write more but 20 - 30 articles per month is a good start)

Target keywords that people are actually googling.

Enable your readers to follow you (email , twitter, fb, google plus) so they can get back to your blog when you post new content.

    Monetize with adsense/affiliate links.

    Enjoy your $50 per month

--- I would talk about SEO, PPC and banner advertising but $50 per month can be achieved just by writing useful content and by being consistent. Do these as a start.

    Cheers!

Well doesn't sounds like your demands are great, so I'd say just identify a subject that you have an interest in that has an audience that has some needs or questions - and then simply fill those needs and answer their questions. They'll love you for it!
