Finally Making Money Conduit Style, Thanks Warriors.

Hi Warriors,

I have been an inactive member of this forum for 3 years and recently decided to join because I feel I owe all of my success to the people of this fantastic community.

I have tried absolutely everything to try and earn a passive income online and have failed over and over again. I even give up for 6 months and forgot all about it and when an old domain came up for renewal I decided to give it another, refreshed, shot.

Man, am I glad I did. After 3 years reading, trying and failing I have finally created a small portfolio of sites pulling in approx. $100 per day. I say approx, every day is different and I had a rare $40 day yest but that seems to be a one off! (I hope!).

Anyway, I have joined purely to say thanks to the people who for some reason, feel a great need to help others who are struggling. People on this forum genuinely want to see others succeed, I have never come across a place like it. From the bottom of my heart guys, thankyou.

Sorry for the long post - I do have a question. Now that I am making reasonable money and feel I could really go places in this crazy business - when would you guys consider packing up the day job?

Thanks again guys,

Mike.

PS If you have any tips or questions about affiliate marketing (esppecially using the conduit method) PLEASE ASK - its the least I can do.
:-)

First, congratulations! So glad your hard work and determination has produced fruits..

Regarding quitting your day job, I'd say it first depends on what your day job is. Is it a career, how much is the salary, how secure etc. etc.

Second, it depends on how secure your internet income is. It's a risk quitting your job, but to chase your dreams you should be prepared to put everything on the table, not blindly of course

I do have one question, if you wouldn't mind, could you send a pm with one or two of your sites which are producing such income? After failing a couple of times I just went into freelance web developing because it was the only guaranteed way. Speaking with someone who is where I realistically should be will surely inspire me, a LOT.

      Hey Damian,

Thanks for the reply. Im an electrician so I wouldnt miss it, I guess theres always freelance work if it all went wrong! You are right about chasing the dreams and I know I could easily triple that income in the next few monthsnow I know what im doing. Still have mortgages and bills though, its a dilemma.

With regards to showing people sites, im a little hesitant. I have adsense on them and about 2 years ago showed a member of DP my sites (he claimed he would help me out) and he got my account banned. I am developing a site right now which has none on, when its done ill send over the URL. If you can build good sites, your half way there mate! My success so far has been determined by good KW research coupled with very good content, authoritive looking sites and good SEO. You need to stay very focused too, its hard putting hours of work in to see a minimal jump in rankings!

If anyone is struggling to find decent niches right now, here is 3 that are doing well for me -

Forex - When I started, I didnt know anything about forex and now feel I could open a consultancy business I know that much! I make Forex sales every day, sometimes multiple. I think forex spending has increased as people are looking for other ways to make money in the "credit crunch" (man I hate that phrase!).

Diet Pills - I felt a little wrong going after this market, im not a fan of the product. A fellow warrior pointed out that using the methods I do, you dont need to promote, your simply providing product info. I make sales in this niche every other day or so.

Exercise - I recently built this site which mainly promotes e-books which help develop a six pack. I kind of bent the conduit rules a little but its paying off nicely and I make daily sales.

What I want to do with more time is build each site to make multiple daily sales and this would be easily acheivable with more traffic.

I hope this thread inspires a few people to get into gear, focus and make some good money online.

Congratulations Mike ! Well done, good to see that hard work pays off in the end. I am in the hard work period though, and enjoying it. Learning something new every day and improving, I hope.
What backlinks methods did you use?

I truly believe you NEED to fail in this game before you get anywhere. You start off hoping its easy money, get drawn in and boom, 18 hour days, RSI and an angry wife!

Backlinks are the main reason I didnt get anywhere for a long time, they are SO important and I think ive cracked it now, which has opened up a world of opportunites for me.

Article marketing - With very focused keywords, I use this a lot.
Forum Commenting - In my related niches, given all my time spent in these niches, I feel I can offer some real value to users.
Directories - Okay, im unsure of their value but I always start by submitting a new site to about 2000 of them.
Guest Posts - Awsome way to get a in content links just takes manhours finding good blogs and sites.
Paid Links - I wouldnt recommend this to anyone, I however couldnt rank in some markets without so SHHHHH. Keep it too yourself.

Most of my niches I can generate a good income using 100% free methods though which I prefer.

            Thanks,

            Mike.

Don't show people your sites. You made it a success ... so keep it. Don't give people the opportunity to steal your ideas or worse yet, your sites in entirety. There's plenty of honest people here, but with a site this size, there's plenty of dishonest ones as well.

Noted, I must say I am very reluctant anyway after my adsense trouble but I think you're right on that one.

There isnt really much to them anyway! Simple layout, good content and lots of backlinking.

Had a few PMs regarding how I do KW research. People seem to live and die by search numbers and competition numbers, whilst they are a great measuring device, I would never rely on them alone.

If a search term looks particularly attractive to me, I would do some deeper analysis into the strength of the competing sites optimization. If the figures suggest that there are 75 000 competing sites, still consider analyzing whats in your way (if the search numbers are good enough). I have ranked for terms with hundreds of thousands of competing sites, sure it takes more than a bit of article marketing but hey, those terms are paying off nicely today :-)

            Hope this helps,

            Mike

Congratulations on your success! I know it can seem impossible at times but when you finally get that taste of success there's no turning back!

Question though... how did you get your Adsense account back if you were banned?

I contacted them sharpish and explained what happened. A year later (after loads of emails) they agreed to reinstate it. I had about $50 dollars in when it went and was it there when I got it back??? This is Google we're talking about, NO I didnt. In the mean time I used my Brothers account.

The conduit method is a Chris Rempel theory. It involves becoming the "conduit" to an inevitable sale.

You will review products in a given market and and offer a number one product as recommended by you. Searchers reach you by researching these products which means they are in buyer mode, I just direct the sale.

It really is the fail-safe way to make money through affiliate marketing, I wish id have discovered it earlier. Ive found it also works well for building lists too, something I havent utilized yet which will probably add a considerable amount to my bottom line.

I would recommend (and help) anyone wishing to try this method.

Congrats on your success! I suggest you not go public with the domains after all the hard work.

As you seem willing to share techniques and advice why not consider packaging it as a step by step guide and make some additional money on a wso.

Yeah, thanks for the advice and I wont share them with anyone. As far as WSOs go, it has crossed my mind simply due to the fact that I got bombarded with PMs asking for something! I might do, but for now, take advantage of my good nature and get everything you need now!

The conduit method was coined by Chris Rempel. It involves "intercepting" buyers by feeding them qualifying content and its making me a tidy little fortune right now.

    Hi mike, well done mate.

So can you elaborate on your sites a bit, how many sites or domains to get you your 100 or so a day? Do you have a tradtional review top 5 or 10 products? What do you think of those review style templates on here and elsewhere you can buy? (They give you fancy graphics etc. so you can make a mini review site).

Do you use adsense or clickbank or other stuff?

    thanks for posting your results.

I have far too many sites, if I was to start from square one id get one site positioned exactly where I want it and then move on. I was far too impatient and eager to move on in my early days. It was a bit of an aha moment when I decided to focus on one site for a few months.

I much prefer building my own sites (I use XSP2 and recently Dreamweaver) but I have found that the sites that come across as more of an authority convert waaaaay much better. The templates do work though, I know of many people seeing results with them.

My homepage targets one main KW, this KW has a large amount of searches and I will focus on getting it ranked long term, For the short term, I go for the long tail. My homepage has some original content around the main KW and above and below is my recommendation. I then just review as many products as possible and include them underneath (I am considering moving them though, it looks far too spammy now).

Personally, I stay away from CB but my six pack site does well from it. I think CB is good for those desperate niches - anxiety and the like, I prefer physical products tho.

As for adsense, I did have it on all sites. I took it off one site and it jumped up in the SERPS tho so I have just this minute taken it off!!

Testing things like this is half the battle, im always testing different layouts and landing pages - all part of the fun!

It would be more logical to assume it was some BL work taking effect but adsense on the conduit sites made me a dollar a day, if that, so I thought it was worth it!

I do have some adsense sites and dont really feel that having it on your site puts you at a disadvantage, if it were the case Ezine Articles would stuggle more than they do!

    Hi Mike,

I also have been inactive on the forum, and the reason is, I am new and did not feel I had anything to contribute. I just read the threads.

I found your post very inspiring. I am also working on the conduit method and I am having technical issues, and was wondering if you have (or anyone else) has any words of wisdom.

I know this is probably very elementary for most, but for me, it is frustrating. My brain knows exactly what to do, but it is the little things that I get stumped on.

I am not able to open the php files, I get that box that has 6 little images in it. I also get this message : Windows cannot open this file : file image.php. To open this file, windows needs to know what program created it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically , or you can manually select from a list of programs on your computer.
What do you want to do? 1. Use the web service to find the appropriate service or 2. Select the program from a list. When you click on the first one, you get this: Microsoft Picture It! Document
    PHP HTML Scripting Language
When you click the 2nd one you get a list of what is on my computer, none of which appears to be what I need.
I am thinking the php html option, however when you click on that, it gives tons of options, and talks something about being compatible with apache, which opens a whole other can of worms for me.

I know, I can do this and do extremely well with it, I am just having a hard time getting past square one, and I feel sure this is an easy fix.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am not sure I understand what you are trying to do, but I assume you are trying to edit a PHP file. In that case, choose option 2 and select the text editor you want to use. e.g. Notepad, Wordpad, etc.

      Hope that helps.

Thanks a for the tip. That did it! I knew it had to be simple. I feel like somewhat of a dunce now .

To go to your question about what I am trying to do. I am attempting to download the conduit method word press templates, themes and plugin. The book has an awesome step by step guide, however, it is compatible with an older version of wordpress, and when I went to download that, it comes in a zip file with a gazillion things in it, and I would not know how to even begin there and decided to keep using the updated version.

Would you happen to know how to zip a file once it has been unzipped? To download into wordpress it has to be in zip format, and the directions I were given said to extract the files and save them to a folder, so that is what I did, so now they are no longer is the correct format.

        Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hey canduit,

Firstly, like all, I would like to congratulate you on finally 'making it'!

I must say I wanted to give up numerous times after failing and failing - but for some reason I just got back on my feet again.

Am also working like you on working on a site and trying to make it rank high. The site also has to do with affiliate reviews and the like - sounds similar to your method!

So how much are you earning now on average for a month? Would you consider flipping your sites?

Am also working like you on working on a site and trying to make it rank high. The site also has to do with affiliate reviews and the like - sounds similar to your method!

So how much are you earning now on average for a month? Would you consider flipping your sites?

      Hi Jeff,

I think the main reason I (and so many warriors) dont give up is because there is a genuine passion for what we do. I also got to a point were it didnt matter if the dam thing made no money, I just wanted it to rank for the terms I had chosed! (I think I went a little mad, it was all them late nights and early mornings!)

I actually had my best day yesterday, $182.22. Thats with a few adsense sites and my main conduit site. I usually hover around the $100 mark but I just had some serious BL work done which may have started to take hold.

Im planning on really scaling up and outsourcing a lot of the work, the sites that dont make at least $100 per day will be flipped and the money invested into the "winners".

For struggling conduit users - Keep it as simple as possible, KW research, plenty of unique content and backlinks...

Yeah, this is a great idea. People have asked why are you selling sites that make a sale every other day??? But If you can flip them for a couple of thousand, that money is far better invested into making good performers into absolute winners.

    Canduit,

I have the conduit method, but I am a bit confused on how you do your KW search and how you position it on your page.

You stated you put your main keyword on your main page and use longtail KW for shortterm traffic. Now, can you explain where you put those long tail's on the page or do you create them on seperate pages?

Also, what is the amount of competing pages and searches that you look for?

      Hey,

Sorry, I didnt explain that very well. I build the homepage around a mid competitive search term like "best widget". I create seperate pages for the longtails but on my homepage I have a "latest articles" section which basically listed most of my articles. I did this because I wanted as many KW on my HP as poss and it works. My best performing site ranks for variations of these KW all the time. I know a few people who go ahead and have an "upcoming articles" section and basically list a shed load of KW, real KW spam but they havent been done yet!

I had a chat with the dude behind the Conduit Method (Chris) and in a nutshell he told me not to get too bogged down with KW research. Once you have a list of the main terms and you have content around them, if you build enough links you will inevitably rank for them, you have too.

However for the long tail I rank for terms from 50 - 1000 searches per month. For the product reviews throw some KW in but dont make it look unnatural.

I am willing to bet that if you did NO KW research at all and just wrote about products, used longtails like "what is the best widget" "best widget reviews" you could make a successful site. Once this unique content has links to it, it will rank. Most people who fail here (from what I have seen) give up before the sites ranking, link building plays a bigger part than what some methods make out and its a long game.

      Hope this helps

      Mike

Mike, can you eleborate a bit more on this? I think this maybe where I get confused on, on page SEO. When you say "multiple KW's" I thought you where trying to rank for one main keyword e.g "best widgets"

Thanks for the explanation, I just need a bit more clarification if you could on the multiple keywords (question under your reply to me)

I am sure that if I did no KW research at all, I would probably get something going, but I really think research is crucual in order to judge what demand there is for the product. Without that, I think it's like throwing darts in the dark.

I'm can honestly say I am not deperate to make any cash right now, so I would rather spend the time getting things right initially, or as close as possible, and move on. I just hate re-doing work after not doing it right initially.

I am definitly going to build a site using the info you provided here in addition to Chris' info.

        Thanks!

No worries and your approach is a very, very good one. If you are less desperate to make money, you will make less mistakes and have a much clearer plan of attack.

I agree on the KW research thing too, its certainly a very good way of gauging demand in a given market just dont get caught out analyzing the hell out of all the data, itll drive you mad.

Does this Canduit (it's an e-book?) help with figuring out where to advertise for PPC rebills? I'm having trouble with that as I have been told Google has been banning people for rebill campaigns. I just can't seem to get anyone to help me out with this.

No mate, the conduit method is simply a process in which to create targeted websites which attract extremely targeted and hungry buyers. I do understand that Google is cracking down on rebills for PPC but I dont promote them so wouldnt know!

If you're not afraid to do some do-it yourself website building (or outsourcing) as well as testing and tweaking (and not DIRECT COPYING), you can easily see some good examples of conduit-style websites (one page review of different affiliate products).

What I suggest you do is go to an article site like EzineArticles and start looking up niches in the search box....Better yet, start looking up long tail keyword phrases in these niches because you will come across many articles that link to these conduit-style websites. Now, you can see how they set up their site to get a good idea how to set up your own conduit site.....It's a little trial and error but worth it.

Yep, good advice and I did this in the beginning. The problem I found though was that you dont know how well they are performing, they could be absolute bombs or they could be working well.

For getting a feel of the conduit site however, very good research method.

For the people who have contacted me asking if it is really possible or did I just get lucky or do I know some secret. The stupid thing is most of the people who have contacted me know exactly what to do (although they may not realize it) its they are just to scared to do anything. I know, I have been there. You are too scared to put your heart and soul into a project without knowing it will be a winner. This is the risk you will have to take BUT I would prefer to try and fail than wonder.

I guess the bottom line is - this is not a get rich quick scheme, it requires hard work and dedication, those who arent willing to commit like this wont make all the money.

Good question and im glad you asked that. My first site was very much a reworded version of some other sites within my niche. They reviewed the products (or so they said they did) and I simply reworded it.

As an online marketer, you kind of have to some things with a pinch of salt. Some marketers are comfortable with providing false reviews without testing the product, I myself dont like too.

So what do I do, I hear you bellow!? I simply create info pages. The products arent reviewed in the typical sense. I get product information straight from the manufacturers site and put my own twist, spin or opinion on it. I mean, people in buyer mode will read pretty much anything to do with a product they are going to buy, you just have to know how to reach them.

You are absolutely right. I think you've described me pretty well.

Instead of taking action, I'm always reading forums & blogs, looking at new products & services, trying to find the "secret" that will turn a lightbulb on in my head and I'll go "Eureka! So that's how you make money!"

The thing is, though, I already know how to make money. I know which methods & strategies work. I've used them. I have access to a lot of great resources that tell me exactly how to implement them. I know what to do, I just need to do it.

But it's like there's some kind of mental block. Maybe it's laziness, or fear of success, or a combination of both. But I need to get over it.

P.S... if I were making the kind of money you are now, I would leave my job in a heartbeat.

Gettin swamped with PMs about how to go about this so ill save you some time -

    1) Pick a niche which has ALOT of competition. Competition means products are selling and there are active buyers in the market.

    2) Pick the 3 products you will recommend - Good sales pages and make sure they provide a solution to the problem within your niche.

    3) Do a little bit of keyword research, pick a search term which gets a decent amount of searches per month with medium amount of competition, preferably a KW which has intent. Also grab a quick list of some secondary keywords which also get a decent amount of searches which you can include in your copy. Lastly grab about ten longtail keywords. Dont spend ages doing this, it should take 20 mins. I use Googles KW tool (used to use Wordtracker but im sure their figures are way out). Also research as many products within your niche as possible.

    4) Go to your most favourite host and register your domain containing the main KW. If the KW is not availaible stick something on the end - bestforexrobot.com or bestforexrobotinfo.com If .com is not there, go for .org I stay away from .info they dont work (for me anyhow)

    5) Use your site builder to stick a nice looking authoritive site together, I use XSPro 2 and it rocks. I am moving over to Dreamweaver now just because I want more dynamic sites in the future.

    6) This is the most time consuming and feel free to outsource. I write all my own copy, I just like knowing its done right. Write the copy for the homepage including the main kw and some secondary keywords. Write reviews of as many of the products you researched as you can, i tend to hit 20. Write your longtails and then whack it all on site.
NB - Remember to submit your site to the engines when youve written the front page.

    7) Put plasters on fingers and hope they dont fall off from typing for 86 hours straight.

    8) Backlinks. Do these over a few months. Article marketing (about 2 or three per day), guest blog posts, forum posts, buy links (shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh), directories (dont waste time doing this, pay someone $20, theyll happily submit to like 2000 sites for that). Remember to continue to link build, dont give it a quick blast and then give up. You need to keep at it until you get the visitors.

    9) Cash the cheques OR analyze the reasons your not cashing the cheques -

    - Do you have enough links going to your sites?
    - Are there enough buyers in the market?
    - Are your products really good? (if not change them, not a problem)
    - Is your copy authoritive but not too pushy, your not selling them you are reviewing them.

If everything seems in order, lemme see the site id love to know why its not making money!

Sorry if theres a few typos, im tired. Any questions please ask, but just go do it and see what happens :-))

Depends what type of traffic it is and what you want them to do. 1000 non-targeted visitors would be pretty useless to me. Yet 1000 targeted visitors, IE visitors with their credit cards in hand looking to dam well buy an answer to their problem would certainly suit me and is quite enough to make you some good money.

Another proof that action speaks louder than words. Plus failing forward is the way to go. I personally love conduit site as it's not hypey and only facts are presented.

Basically, Mike has shared what needs to be done here and if you want to learn more you can get a copy of Chris's report (dirt cheap). The only thing left is action.

    Mike,

earlier it was asked how many sites you currently
have. Your reply to that was "too many".

    I know how that goes!

If you were to say a rough guestimate
of how many are bringing in cash, what would
    that be?

    3 sites?
    6 sites?
    10 sites?
    50 sites?
    100,000 sites?

I have in the region of 30, they all make a little bit of money but I have 3 real performers. Having 30 is mainly the result of jumping from one system to the next, be it adsense, PPC, aff marketing...

Picking ONE site and applying all your energy to it is the only way to go, its such a stupid mistake when I look back. I am starting to outsource as the money comes in and this will allow me to enter more markets quicker, something that I feel I needed to learn slowly. Walk before you can run and all that!...

I use XSPro and design my own sites, to be honest I dont like Chris' templates (sorry Chris). Remember though that although I dont like them and have found a site layout that works for me, the templates are designed for effectiveness. If you are uncomfortable with creating layouts and linking internally etc, they are brill and do the job. Perhaps start with them and when you feel confident enough to progress, go ahead!

Whatever you use it all boils down to the same thing, content and links - and lots of them.

I have one question: what kind of keywords do you use for backlinking for inner pages (review pages)? Are they something like "widget review"? Or do you just link to your home page as far as backlinking is concerned?

      Hi Abel,

I do have a quick look for specific product KWs but there is hardly ever any long tails worth targeting so I do just go for "product review". I might throw some long tails in the copy but I dont really get caught up with it too much to be honest. If your talking about a specific product then chances are you will cover hundreds of KW variations without even realizing it. One thing to remember is that most of your traffic will come from variations of the KWs you pick anyway (and these are the best converting ones in my experience too).

I do however spend time building deep links to these pages and feel this is important to not just getting these pages ranked, but also getting all the other pages ranked (especially the HP).

      Hope this helps,

      Mike

        Hi Mike,

        Congrats to your success!!

I totally agree with your "you will cover hundreds of KW variations without even realizing it". This is particularly true. I have pages rank for some funny terms that combines together.

        Cheers.

My question is if you already have an authority site that is ranking and is several years old, could you make some conduit sites subdomains of it?

As long as you keep your conduit sites in the same niche, you're simply adding some subdomains with different products related to your authority site, right?

Would that work, because it looks like the conduits could get google juice from your main site.

      Alice,

You could do but I would much rather create a seperate property in case you come to sell. Also, you might want to operate in a different niche. By all means try it though, it isnt something I would do.

    Hi Canduit,
I just joining war room and now inspired to make conduit sites. I have two conduit sites now, but I am using wordpress with WPreviewEngine. I think it's cheaper than I have to buy xsitepro and it's powerfull too.

It's just set for a week, let's see if I will make sales.

Btw Canduit, how many Conduit sites do you have?

Hi Mike, excellent post! I am doing something similar to this but have yet to see the success you are having. I'm sure it will be soon.

A couple questions. Forgive me if they were already answered.

    1. Is every post you write a review of a product? Or are some of the long term keyword posts, general questions in the niche that you are writing about to bring in traffic and then drive them to your review posts?

    2. Also do you only review each product once? Or do you have several posts reviewing the same product but optimized for different keywords?

    Thanks for your time,
    Eric

Nothing converts into sales better than research traffic (IMO) its like fishing with dynamite. Lets say I had a site geared around fishing rods, I would write reviews about EVERY rod in the market. On the review page I promote the product I am selling. I pick out long tails that I think will convert well.

      2. Also do you only review each product once? Or do you have several posts reviewing the same product but optimized for different keywords?

Good question. My strategy now focuses on single review pages. If theres a really good keyword I go out and buy the domain and compete with myself.

Hope this makes sense, im soooo tired, been at it all day!

      Thanks for your time,

    Hi Guys,

Again, just a quick note on PMs - I getting through them as fast as I can. Sorry if I havent got to you yet! I want to stay on track with my goals so my times precious.

Due to the sheer volume of requests, ill throw up a quick e-book and some videos to explain EXACTLY how to get to the $100 a day mark. Included will be templates, highly converting products to go after, my KW strategy, marketing techniques etc and I will spend a lot more time with the buyers answering questions, seems like a fair thing to do.

Let me know if your interested - Honestly though guys, you know what to do. Good content and lots of links - it just takes a little work.
