Ezine Advertising Using Success Stories

In the near future I want to utilize Ezines to promote my writing platform, hosting, kw research tool, SEO service. site flip business.

My plan would be like this:

1) Publishing my own success story in Ezines
2) Earn emails by offering a free eCourse using a Squeeze page
3) Monetize my eCourse with my services.

My sucess story is based on building and ranking websites so it matches perfectly with what I offer.

Do you think this would be a solid approach, using a success story as copy to have people click through to my squeeze page? I understand split testing is important but maybe others tried this before me and can shine some light on this concept.

I would also provide a live case study in the ecourse as proof of earnings + rankings.

Please post your ctr's as well so I have a little bit an idea what to expect, for example with banner advertising based on views it often varies between the extremes of 0,05 and 2 percent.

Is Ezine marketing similar to banner advertising in terms of ctr?

    So it seems like you enjoy doing SEO and you are looking to attract other like minded clients that way you can offer your expertise to them. You seem to be on the right path, however testimonials alone aren't going to attract your potential prospects, you also have to learn how to educate your expertise to them that way they will want to learn from you and receive your freebie. Try and offer upfront value first than from their continue providing answers and solutions to them that's why it is important to build a list that way you can follow up and contact them at anytime. Since you do SEO there is a SEO section where many people hang out, you might want to try posting there.
