Hi everyone. well since there is no "introduction thread" for this website I thought I'd just go ahead and introduce myself to everyone.

This is my 2nd day here but I just registered to be a member last night.

I am 34 years old and I hold a useless degree BS (Bullshit) degree in psychology
MBA in marketing (another useless degree) and finally im going to school for my lpc in counseling at the masters level. Had I known how much time I have wasted in the past decade or so, I would like to just rewind time and start over again with everything I know up to this date.

They say we as people evolve as we grow. Something we like today we may not like tomorrow. 10 years ago I didn't even know what internet marketing was. Heck 10 years ago I was not even interested in auto repair. My point is as we grow up and age we change interests, what I didn't like then is what I love and have a passion for today.

Just like when we were children we used to love toys and as grown adults could care less about them.

I began to realize that college is such a waste of time because even if we attain a "degree" it does not guarantee us jobs even in this recession and economy. Where Is one to turn?? Internet marketing! Where the potential is limitless and is not affected by economic downturns and recessions.

Particularly I have a passion to learn in the following: PHP, JAVASCRIPT, HTML 5, CSS, affiliate marketing, google ADSENSE, ppc, ppv, email / zip submits, and more.

In fact I am self teaching on PHP and boy is it very confusing. But I am persistent and with practice I will surely become "automatic" in developing php websites. But then I got to thinking maybe HTML 5 should be where I should start before learning PHP.

Why do we need to work for the guys above us in the executive dept and be treated like shit? I for one am done with that experience. It is time to be self made millionaires and I am looking forward to the long yet hard journey.

Thanks for reading. I look forward to being very active in this forum.

    Hey TAHERSYED34,
Welcome aboard. Glad to have you here

It sounds like you are in the right Mindset. You are already learning stuff that many people here do not have a clue about. So good for you.

The journey can be hard but the rewards can be great.

Keep moving forward. And I agree it sucks putting up with bossman

Hi thanks for the reply. I don't know if you are a veteran in internet marketing but should I start learning php first or html 5 first as a newbie? Thanks

        Hi Tahersyed, welcome aboard!

As you say, we all learn and change as we grow.

I began to realize that college is such a waste of time because even if we attain a "degree" it does not guarantee us jobs even in this recession and economy.
Why do we need to work for the guys above us in the executive dept and be treated like shit? I for one am done with that experience.
I hope, in time, you'll get to realize that all experiences help to shape your outlook. Maybe you'll come to see that a college education isn't all about the qualification, or that sometimes we have to put up with a little discomfort in our working lives before understanding what's important for us.

Particularly I have a passion to learn in the following: PHP, JAVASCRIPT, HTML 5, CSS, affiliate marketing, google ADSENSE, ppc, ppv, email / zip submits, and more.
Some of those are tools (which may or may not be useful to you) and others are advertising techniques. While I acknowledge that learning should be a lifetime activity, you might find it more efficient to first choose a path, and then decide what you need to learn. Perhaps start by considering what specific market you'd like to serve, and take it from there. You''ll find plenty of experienced folks here willing to help out, if you need to know more about a particular topic.

        All the best to you.
