I just need some quick reassurance...

Google came and crawled my blog.

Whois also crawled me and gave me a score of 89% SEO.

Google Webmaster tools tells me I'm ranking for keyword searches, but these searches aren't the ones I was marketing towards. Not to mention, they're all very low search volume keywords that give me only a few visitors a day.

I'm assuming that I'll eventually get on the Front Page of my selected keyword searches, since most of them have very low backlinks on their main domain, and the others are internal pages with low backlinks.

Is this right? Should I continue to be patient and wait for my blog to appear in my selected keyword searches?

EDIT: Actually, I do rank for one of my keyword searches. but only 1.

For SEO you want to focus on 5 things:

    1) Backlinks (BIG)
    2) Meta-Tags: The Meta-Title and Meta-Description are CRITICAL
    3) Keyword Density
    4) Have a URL with your primary keywords in it
    5) The Age of your website

If you focus on these and backlink hard with anchor text, you will rise to the top. Sometimes it is fast and sometimes it is slow. You must be patient - but ALWAYS backlink...

Ah, that's something I've actually needed to work on. I've backlinked my inner pages over 100 times, but they're all backlinked to "?p=(number here)" instead of that other setting in wordpress where it changes how the website references my inner pages.

I was thinking about trying to change it, but I'd have to learn how to 301 redirect so google still recognizes the backlinks, but I don't have to redo all of them.

But thanks. Now I know how important that part is.

You may also consider changing your permalinks as well. Something like /postname.html, you know that structure. It really does help.
