Hi Warriors,

Is Ezine still a good place to drive traffic to bizop offers / lead pages? Perhaps you have any directory of good places to guestblog or so.

Please assist!

Ezines can be very good places from which to drive potential customer traffic.

But if by any chance, when you say "Ezine", you're referring to the article directory called "Ezine Articles" (which isn't "an ezine": it's a source of articles "for ezines"), then the answer's no. That isn't a function of an article directory and it isn't how they work, and posts #2 and #6 of this thread will help you.

Good places for you to guest-blog, or to have your content syndicated, are places that already have the specific, targeted traffic that you want to attract to your landing page.

    It's all about relevance.

There isn't any objective "best" list of places. There couldn't be.

It's explained more clearly in this post, with some further references and links: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post9418843 .

Bookmarked those two links, skimmed through and it's a deep well of knowledge so I intend to download all to my brain one at a time haha. "Make haste but not in a hurry!

Awesome Alexa, really good information! Ta!

Like Alexa I think Ezine Articles is not a good place ... in fact I have been researching the site this week just to see what opportunities if any exist. One video I watched suggest that Google may penalize sites for having Ezine Article links ... not sure if true but for me not worth the risk

      Hi Bernard,

Thanks for the insight. I'll stay away from it then if that is the case as I am also thinking of building a membership website which I may choose to rank later on so probably best not to hurt SEO. I am still learning so you'll have to excuse my ignorance

Ezine, and article marketing in general have definitely died out. Not what they used to be for sure. It's definitely shifted it's way over to content marketing (blogging, syndication, etc.) which I tend to like better. IMO

"Article directory marketing" has definitely died out. Years ago.

It was only ever based on a misunderstanding of what article directories are for, how they work, and what benefits they can really provide.

"Article marketing" (which I think you're referring to, in your post above, as "content marketing") quite the contrary - it's going from strength to strength.

Ezine Articles still has its use, and some of us who have taken up article marketing for a living are still using it as a last-stage passive syndication aid, but certainly not for its own traffic and obviously not for its own backlinks (which are all no-follow, these days, anyway).

Article marketing has nothing to do with SEO.

Ezine Articles is actually a little better now than it used to be 3-4 years ago, thanks partly to the fact that so many other former article directories have now - understandably - fallen by the wayside that a few more publishers in search of articles to syndicate go to EZA for look for them, now.

As mentioned above, no article marketers are putting our articles into EZA in an attempt to bring potential customer traffic to our own sites via EZA: those are copies we don't want customers to find (and fortunately both Google and effectively EZA itself are playing ball with us, over that.

So, overall it's gradually becoming a little easier and a little more productive to use EZA for its originally intended purpose, a comparatively minor afterthought though that is ).

I would say yes and if you ask Charlie Page from the Directory of Ezines he would probably say Absolutely Yes!

The answer is, if you can be specific with your offer, a resounding yes.
