INTERNET MARKETING

Can anyone recommend an exit popup app. for HTML pages that actually works?

All I've been able to find are WordPress plugins (which I'm not interested in)

And I not interested in paying a monthly subscription to access some web based app.

I've tried to get some information about 'Popup Domination', but I'm still waiting for a reply to a simple question I sent to their support desk 4 weeks ago.

So, on principle, I'd never want to get that product.

Any input would be appreciated

I've got two recommendations:

1. LeadBoxes by LeadPages - you can put these on any webpage and they recently added the ability to do exit intent lead boxes

2. Open Source Javascript - would require you to do some simple coding or hire a developer, but a nice easy lightweight option that does exactly what you're looking for, for free

well the thing is, if having a variety of possibilities that pop ups add to your business increases your profit more than the monthly cost why wouldn't you....

  Checkout sumome from the guys over at App Sumo. It's javascript that gets served by them so as long as you load the script, its all you need. The nice thing is it comes with a ton of other things such as contact forms, floating social media shares, scroll up boxes and heat maps. I use it for several sites and it works just fine for me. Great thing... its free...

  Having an exit popup can have an adverse effect.
  
  First, many advertising network forbid making advertising for a landing page with an exit popup.
  
  Second many customers are annoyed by exit popup this includes me as well. If I see this happen on a website, I no longer go back there. If I press back or leave the site it could just be I am in a hurry and I do not have the time to read the landing page (I bookmarked it) or it does not interest me.
  
  If I see an exit popup it bothers me sometimes to the point, that I no longer want to buy from that person, especially if after that popup another one shows up.
  
  My advice for long term relationship, do not use a popup exit script. Then again I am a noob marketer so perhaps those that have experience can tell if it work or not in their campaign.

  That may or may not be the best advice. Unless you've actually tested it with your specific market, you could be leaving money or list sign-ups on the table.

Have you checked out popu.ps? They are free to start, then just $5/month. I've used them a few times. It may work for you.

  For basic HTML pages, I second the recommendation to adapt a basic javascript. Put it in a text file with a .js extension, then call it for any page you need it.
  
  Can't find the link at the moment, but Will Bontrager has a nice blog post with sample code you can tweak over at Willmaster.com.

i use wisepops. theres unlimited free pop ups [little ad in the bottom right, although you can subscribe for more features and no ad like 10/month].

they look nice with my site
easy to use
easy install

a novice internet user could use this tool
