4-5 years ago. WIth all of the procrastination around a year and a half.

If I am to take out the procrastination, in 3-4 months.

It's easier if you just take action and focus on one method.

I started learning early when in College, but didn't take action partly because I didn't have a lot of time to devote and partly because of procrastination. I started earning after 3 months of "I will make it work" devotion.

I started my freshman year in high school, aged 14.

I still don't consider myself a 'success' although my standards for the word keep getting higher and higher as the days go by. I have achieved the goals I set out for myself when I started, but of course I have much higher goals now.

I'm planning to never stop improving.

I began doing IM in 2008. Due to the fact that I have really high standards, I don't know that I'll ever reach "success" within IM or other areas for that matter. I'm one of those people that believes there's always room for improvement in whatever you do. If you're talking about success in terms of getting my first sale, I distinctly remember that it was 3 months after I found a legitimate program and was for a total of $7!

While it wasn't a lot of money, it let me know that making money online was possible, and once I met the threshold for the particular network and got my first commission check and was actually able to cash it and get the money in my hand, I knew it was real (wasn't totally convinced until that happened). I can't remember if the check was from Linkshare or what used to be called the Pepperjam affiliate network (think it's called ebay Enterprise now). I know it wasn't Clickbank because I didn't grasp the idea of what a digital/info product was back then...ha, ha, ha.

    Only 2011 for me.

I would advice any newbie to get going with an agency/in-house. It's best to learn with other's money.

I started around the time I joined this forum (I was 18).

I made every mistake you could make, when I started, and therefore earned nothing for about my first 4 months. But another 2 months after that, I earned $3,000+ in a month, and (although of course I didn't yet know it at that point) that actually turned out to be the start of "making a living" from it, and my income grew fairly quickly from there.

I started sometime back in the early 2000's just researching and trying out many Make money online scams and programs but in 2009 launched my first WSO doing link building and made my first ever money online at $1500 per month and the took it offline for clients and a year later making 6 figures but it took years of learning and failing before getting it right. I think a lot of people on here claiming fast success has a lot of years of failing and learning before it all took off for them. I don't see anyone learning Internet Marketing in a few months and making a full time income doing it fast. Sorry, just my honest opinion.

I started when I was 13 just dabbling in some VERY basic stuff. I didn't take it into "full overdrive" until a year or two ago where I launched my biggest WSO up to that point, really focused on list building and email marketing, and just trying to build up my business.

I started reading bits and pieces when I was 16. Then as the years progressed I started to learn more, then investing, then doing. 10 Years later I'm in a far better position now then when I was first starting out (obviously ).

For me, there are many, many more miles I see in the rear view mirror than there are through the windshield.

I'm kind of envious of all you young people that are just getting started in your career.

My four children are all married now and, unfortunately, I didn't have the Internet available when I was choosing my career.

But maybe I still have something to offer . . . hope that seniors can be a part of this online business revolution.

You don't have to be young to create a successful, profitable money making business online! "Old folks" have wisdom and experience to share and that can be a valuable asset to your business if you position yourself properly. Whatever you choose to do . . . satisfy market demand and no one will care about your age.

The best to all of you.

        Steve

PS The only thing older than I am is dirt.

Started when I was 6 and within a few months I started making income with Blogs that I had.

I didn't go into actually IM products until after being in the game with other Niches for over 5 year when I turned 11.

Now Iam 13 years old and it really has been a really fun and fruitful journey

It varies for most people, depends where you first start. I was fortunate to learn affiliate marketing when I first started as most people start with PTC and adsense. There isn't an exact answer to your question.

      I started back in 2009.
I was at a crossroads in my life and wanted to change my direction.

I remember for over a month prior to getting into IM I was bombarding myself with self help audios from Tony Robbins, Les Brown, Harv.T.Eker and many more. All I did was focus my mind on trying to figure out where I needed to go.

One night, just out of the blue, I awoke with a strong urge to find out how to make money online. I stayed up all night researching on Google. The next day I knew where I needed to focus.

It was a massive struggle though because I had zero experience or knowledge. I think I made my first $1 from a couple of Squidoo lenses I had put together. That may have been 3 to 6 months after I first got started.

After earning that $1 I began to believe I could make money online. That's all I needed.....belief in myself.
