How do you find Top Blogs

How do you find the most viewed blogs for a certain niche? Is there a special ranking website that would allow you to research your niche of choice?

You can usually do a search for a very competitive keyword for the niche you are in on Google. The first 10 websites usually get a lot of traffic.

      That's what I'd normally do.

      I agree with this.

As for me, I would just type the keyword/s on the niche I would like to research on Google Search and the top 10 that appears should be the authority sites for that keyword/s.

What you can do would be to analyze the details of their traffic using alexa.com and/or quantcast.com. Sometimes I will also use statmyweb.com, statscrop.com, w3bin.com just to see what information can be obtained from the traffic these website are getting.

These are some of the sites I use when researching traffic of other websites. They are really helpful.

One thing that I have discovered when using alexa.com paid membership (10 bucks a month) is that sites that link to authority sites can easily be seen. So lets say you put in gamestop.com for the video game niche.

If you go to all sites linking in you will see all of the sites that link in to the gamestop.com domain. From there you can pull the sites with decent alexa rank with relevant content and wallah your in business.

You may also find forums as well.

Try using some of the Twitter search tools to identify top 'influencers', and see where they are posting.

    Another excellent resource is AllTop.com

Here i am sharing you two processes for finding good blogs in your niche. In fact it is just the expansion of what "proguru (post #4)" has already said.

      1st process:-
      .
Make a list of 10 keywords in your niche:-

These keywords should preferably have 1000 global search monthly (but this is not absolutely required)

e.g. for "affiliate marketing" niche, two such keywords are "affiliate marketing income" and "affiliate marketing tips"

then put "this keyword + blog" into google search.

      e.g.

      affiliate marketing income blog
      affiliate marketing tips blog
      etc.

go to all the first page results of google search and visit those blogs, bookmark those blogs you find interesting, or those blogs that attract you. You will find if these blogs are top quality by surfing a little inside the blog.

Repeat the same process for all the 10 keywords.

In this way, you will collect a lot of blogs in your niche.

      2nd Process:-

Do a google search for "list of" in your niche.

      e.g.

List of top 10 blogs in affiliate marketing
list of top blogs in affiliate marketing
list of top 15 blogs in affiliate marketing

Visit those blogs and bookmark those you find interesting.

Some time back, Google had a blog search feature. I was not able to find that feature now. Maybe there is another similar blog search feature with another search provider.
