Default Commission Junction Tax Question

Sigh... it's never a straight line from A to B.

I'm signing up for CJ and I've run into a hiccup with the tax info that's required on your account.

As a Canadian citizen, what form should I fill out in order to get paid by CJ?

Non-US persons Thanks.

Rainer

I would think it would be the W-8BEN, but I do not know for sure. The other one would seem to be used if you are outside the U.S. and promoting vendors outside the U.S.

I was thinking that one myself, Dan, but not sure.

I wonder what other Canadians on this forum are doing. I'm sure thare must be some in the same situation.

Hi Rainer, I wonder if you ever found out the answer to this? I'm looking through tax forms on CJ site now and cannot decide myself. I am hosting my site physically in US, so that probably rules out the 1st form (Certification Of No United States Activities). Now, when I'm reading the W-8BEN form it says on the top that "A person claiming that income is effectively connected with the conduct
of a trade or business in the United States" should fill other form - W-8ECI.

What's the right way to submit tax info to CJ if I'm a Canadian resident?
