I have always wondered what is the correct way to do market research, especially for product creation.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    I generally try to find some of the most active and informative sites in the niche, and follow them for a period of time. to simply go in there and make some quick calculations based on some plan presented buy another marketer so often falls short. You need to study over a period of time, and see what other people are doing, not just today but over a few months.

    well I'm not amazingly successful, I have started several businesses that did quite well, and all of them started through my research and interest over several months. I didn't just start investing or start putting all my time into these ideas from the very beginning. I spent time learning about them to the point that I was at least a minor expert in the area before I really went all in.
