Default Expert or Publisher

Hi,

Im looking at getting in the information publishing business.
I have found that some people say they use the expert model of marketing their products and others use the publisher model.

I understand what an expert does but can anyone tell me how the publisher model works?
Such as do they get some one who is an expert in the niche to ghost write the content and then perceive themselves as the expert or is it that they get an expert to create all the information and then publish it with that persons name to the content?

Any suggestions to this business model would be appreciated.

Well, if there is a contrast - expert model vs. publisher model - then we need to assume that the publisher is not herself an expert.

Think of book publishers as an example. The people who run the company RECRUIT experts to write books for them. They are in charge of preparing, distributing and marketing the content.

There is no ghostwriting involved in most cases. The author is identified as such and the publisher is identified as such. When there is publicity about the content, it's the author (the expert), not the publisher, who goes onto talk shows to discuss it, or gets interviewed on teleseminars, etc.

Does that help?

Thank you for your reply that is very helpful. Any other information you have on this business would be most helpful as when someone else tells you to look at something in a different way it opens new doors.
