I don't think using Google Analytics effects the site ranking. However, the infomration you get will help you to understand your site stats better and then you can make the improvements accordingly.

Use Google Analytics. Because if you don't, you never will have access to the analytics insights.

Man... if you think Google doesn't know what's going on even without you using analytics then that's pretty naive.

I understand though, I've seen people recommend it as well but if you're really taking your website(s) seriously you want the insight it provides. I guess if you're doing some spammy stuff or things that are considered "dark" I could see why you wouldn't want the analytics.

I think Google certainly wouldn't penalize you for using one of their tools. If what you are doing on your site is legit and has user value.

Quite the contrary is my guess. If you use GA it shows you are happy and open to Google accessing your site's inner stats.

Where have you heard that? - I can assure you I use Google google analytics on my site & never have problems. Plus, you want to know about what people are doing? Like the behaviors and bounce rate. Google is your friend!

I have to agree with iAmNameLess - There is nothing seen in Google Analytic's that Google isn't already accessing. It seems very doubtful that Google would establish a second set of Algorithms only to penalize sites that utilize the service... don't you agree?

This is really a misconception about Google Analytics. There is nothing to do with Analytics with your search engine rankings. It will make 0% effect. I am using Google analytics from 5+ Years for my blogs and never had any problem with my Rankings.

The bounce rate you see in Analytics has no effect on your rankings in any way, shape or form.

Whilst Google do track and use a certain type of bounce rate to help their algos identify relevancy, it is most certainly not the bounce rates you and I deal with on a daily basis.

I agree with the above posters that Google has multiple ways to get this information and it shouldn't effect your rankings in a negative way.

As usual, lots of opinions here; but not so many facts.

Fortunately, there are actually people who know the facts. People like Google's own Matt Cutts who said:

"You can use Google Analytics you can not use Google Analytics; it won't affect your ranking within Google search results."

Super old video and Matt no longer works for Google, but yeah, this video reinforces the "facts" that most of us have already noted.

Google Analytics is a tool used to analyze site's statistics.
If you think that it affects site ranking then it is totally wrong. But, at some point, the audience engagement a site (vice versa) gives social signal to search engines might be the one that causing the site's ranking and not Google Analytics directly.
