How does Amazon feel about ReviewAzon-type sites?

I know Google doesn't like them, but what is Amazon's stance on these?
I would think they'd be fine with them, but then I read this on the WooCommerce Amazon Affiliates - Wordpress Plugin site: (the caps are theirs)

"IMPORTANT - THIS PLUGIN IS JUST A TOOL TO HELP YOU DEVELOP A WORDPRESS / WOOCOMMERCE WEBSITE. DO NOT MAKE MINI AMAZON WEBSITES, BECAUSE AMAZON WILL CLOSE YOUR AFFILIATE ACCOUNT IF YOU ONLY IMPORT AMAZON PRODUCTS WITHOUT HAVING OTHER CONTENT ON YOUR WEBSITE (OTHER PRODUCTS, POSTS, REVIEWS AND SO ON)"

What do you mean "Google doesn't like them"? What does Google have to do with Amazon?

And what WooCommerce says is true. If all you do is scrape and repost Amazon content then your account could at at risk.

Most of these types of plugins do just that- scrape key info from Amazon and repost it formatted as a "review" on your site.

They can be good as a helper to create content with info from Amazon but if you just use them to create posts "out-of-the-box" then you are going to have low quality scraped content.

    They are better for:

    - quickly adding links/images to your original content without having to go to Amazon searching, cutting and pasting

    - creating short supplemental posts that are a small percentage of original posts on a larger blog

Zeebar what you need to do is to re work what is said about a product on Amazon and put it in your own words. In other words make it your own hope that helps

  • Always give the review your own voice. This is what differentiates you from other people. Look at it like this, if you were searching for web development books and you found 3 websites giving reviews on 4 different books but they all said the same thing, you'll click away.

It just looks like the website is tryign to sell you rather than help. It's just generic, people like personality.

I would have invented Google and Microsoft if I was born earlier.

      Thank you for your replies.
I understand that a site that just duplicates Amazon's contents is of no value to the visitor, and will not rank well in Google, if at all.
But let's say I'm stupid or crazy and I still want to make a site like this...
I can't find anything in Amazon's TOS that prohibits someone to make these types of sites.

If you still have questions why don't you talk to Amazon?

They pick up the phone pretty quickly.

Will do, and thank you, that's very helpful. I didn't even know you could call them.

From my own experience (and it's pretty extensive, I've been an Amazon affiliate for a zillion years - to prove it, my original tracking ID comes without the -20 extension), I have found that I do far, far better when I use neither a WP Amazon dedicated theme, nor a WP Amazon plugin.

I suggest you follow Warriors Jan Roos and Eric Stone (Sojourn). Their advice on the composition of your reviews is excellent.
