I have an offline business rolling out later this month and I'm trying to come up with a name that is professional, informative and motivational. Don't want to disclose the model here and could use some help. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get some help working up a real product name, that doesn't sound too internet cutesy? Would appreciate any help you guys can give. Kirk |

Take a look at this article in Entrepreneur magazine - it's specifically about how to name a business. Good luck with your new venture. |

Well, I think names that hint at what you do are great. Not many companies out there can pull off with a biz name like Google or Amazon which doesn't specify what it is. Also, keep it short and simple so people can remember it. I have a mortgage company before names Exceptional Mortgage Services. Let's just say it didn't make for a great domain name!!! Alex |

Thanks to both of you! I just finished reading the Entrepreneur article, and I'm playing with some names in my mind and on my yellow pads (I'm too old to understand and use a notes thingy on my PC) I'm wondering if a keyword search might bring out some words I hadn't thought of ... but not too sure how to do a keyword search, even though folks talk about it here every day. Oh well, Cheers folks, keep them ideas and suggestions rolling in. Kirk |
