Send out scheduled emails based on the time that the Prospect signed up for the mailing list

Is there any service or app that can send out scheduled emails based on the time that the Prospect signed up for the mailing list?

I am selling a piece of software and I am giving a 30 day trial. To download the trial the Prospect enters his/her email. I would like to send out three emails, one immediately when the user signs up with details how to download, and a second one a few days before the trial ends to notify the users that the trial ends soon and how to purchase, and the last one when the trial ends with details how to continue using the software by purchasing a license.

Is this possible to accomplish using free tools that for example Hostgator can host, or is there any paid service that could achieve this.

Do you think it is a good strategy?

I don't know who is best qualified to answer this, but I'll throw my hat in.

Several free, Auto Responders, google that.

Best Paid, several, Aweber, getresponse has a 30 day freebie.

I don't know if I am answering your question. It would seem the Autoresponder email services though, setting the release days of your email to the prospect, like first email at 0, them email 2 at 04 and final email at 27days after sign up. Host Gator... maybe not, but while your growing, just manually sending could get you going.

I use Infusion to do exactly these kind of things. I think they are running some kind of deal right now that waives some or all of their (normally huge) set up fees.

My advice: if you are really in this business and not just farting around, don't waste your time with free autoreponders. Treat this as an essential tool of your business - this is not where you try to nickel and dime things.

    SilverPop will do this:

"Send Time Optimization--An industry first, users can elect to send a mailing at the time most conducive to achieving opens and clicks based on prior recipient behavior saved within the database. In addition, Silverpop can auto-populate this list item for each recipient based on past behaviors such as time of open. And send time optimization takes the guesswork out of delivering messages across multiple time zones."

    SilverPop data list management

Although you may "pop" back over here when you see the price.
