The origin of the "dog training" example

Almost every e-boook, video, audio, tutorials uses "dog training" as the example. Everything has a history and origin.. so does anyone know where this all started from?

It all goes back to the year 28,957 BC and a cave in Southern France. A wild dog was the only animal stupid enough to go sit beside another carnivore who had a fire lit - ready to roast anything that moved. For some reason, Zog the Caveman wasn't overly hungry that day - could have been due to the half a mammoth he had devoured the day before at Gorg's semi-monthly tarpit barbeque. So, he decided to teach the wild dog some dumb animal tricks, like "pretend you've been trampled by buffalo" and "omg, you've treed a sabertooth tiger".

The dog just sat there. Zog tried for hours. He'd have paid anything for a good dog training book.

      Hi Kevin,

You've just figured out how to cheer up someone who is watching the raining belting down outside. Love it - thanks!

      Hi Kevin,

Thanks for this funny post. That might just explain why dog training has been used as an example LOL

it's probably a niche that has a lot of people searching for a lot of problems to solve. When you think about it...the amount of people who have dogs times the number of dogs times the number of breeds...you get the picture. It's kinda worldwide in scope.

Then again, perhaps someone really loved dogs...who happened to be needing fido to not pee in the house.

Interesting. I had a dog until recently and never really bothered to train him. Neither anybody I know. I'm actually surprised the dog training niche is so massive. If it were something like pet health I could understand. We pet owners would give a kidney for our pets.

The Dog niche is vast and deep, and is the reason it is used as an example a lot, imho.

You got dog behavior problems x illness x dog breeds x colors x sizes x hypo-alergentic x breeding x showmanship x buying guides x adoption.

    Whew!

Frank Kern had (has?) a dog training niche site under the pen name Dean Rankin. He used this as an example in his later products.
