Do you guys use to for long term business purpose and such. I have been using gmail for the longest time (10 years) but I want to switch to one that I can use for both professional and personal.

I tried to set up my first name and last name for gmail but it seems like it is taken even with numbers and such.

I want to use an email that not that many people are using these days but comes with the same or similar benefit similar to gmail and yahoo.

Any suggestion?

It takes a little bit of doing but you can set up email through a domain, providing you have a hosting plan that lets you do this.

You can read the email online by logging in through your site, or you can download the emails with a software application, or forward the email address to an email account you are already using.

Those don't take a lot of tech expertise, a little bit, but not much.

About 10 years ago I would say that in order for anyone to take
you seriously you should use your own domain for email rather
that a free email service provider. But the view towards free
email services, especially gmail, seems to be changing. I know a lot
of serious business people who use gmail as their main email.

Cough up a few bucks to seal your own domain name (preferably with your name on it), and tailor the email address in the way that you want it. This is the best way... it's both professional, personal, and impressive. Try 1&1. They'll set up you up for a good price... if you only want to secure your domain name for email use.
