Default Query: Paid Special Report with MRR, or Free Report to Build List?

Hi folks

I have just completed a Special Report which has got links embedded inside, intended to promote an affiliate product.

Just wondering if I could get a general show of hands or some alternative suggestions on this, but I was thinking of either:

  1. Selling it as a Special Report for $5 - $7 with MRR, the idea being that the report is spread around to others who would package it and sell it and spread it to others etc.
  2. Attach it as currency in return for a Name and Email address on a yet-to-be created squeeze page, giving it away for free, but building my own list for that niche.
Just had another thought whilst writing this... Perhaps I could split the report into a few chucks and do a mini-course...

Anyway, if anyone will provide me with another pair of eyes on these ideas, I'm grateful. Kinda lose objectivity after an intense working session.

Cheers!

Anyone?

The only input I have is from the significant other, who insists I have an aversion to money and that I should "sell the flipping thing".

Am inclined to think selling it would be a better option - then at least I would know that those who do buy were those who are inclined to buy digital products in that niche. I would perhaps build a smaller list, but it would be more targeted and responsive?

Again, would really appreciate some input from someone - this is my first finished product and would like to get it deployed and running this evening.

Thanking you all kindly

Depending on how big the report is you could maybe have a sales page, but somewhere on there have a bit that offers a coulple of chapters free in exchange for an email adress - that way you get the best of both worlds and can follow them up if they don't buy first time.

If you don't like the sound of this, I'd probably say go with capturing their email address. They'll still get the book and you'lll still earn from affiliate links, plus you can sell them whatever whenever over time.

Cheers,
Chris

I would do it as a free report to build my mailing list. You can also offer an upsell with it so that people pay to have their own links in it and charge $9 a time.

kind regards

Thank you both for your replies. Just woken up, so will consider my next move through bleary eyes and coffee.

Thank you again, much appreciated.
