Merchant Account Required by a Caribbean Resident

I live in the Caribbean and work online.

I process payments through PayPal but now wish to have
a 2nd payment gateway as I grow my business.

I tried opening a merchant account but was told that my business
needed to be registered in the US in order to proceed.

Since this is not an option I wish to pursue at this time can anyone
give me some advice about how best to proceed?

Many Thx...

Kirk

There are (at least) tens of thousands of businesses registered in the Caribbean that have merchant accounts. I regularly do business with one, myself.

Were you perhaps told this by a US-based merchant account provider, Kirk, and might you be better off asking Caribbean-based merchant account providers? Indeed, financial services are one of the local industries of much of the Caribbean, on which economies are based, so you ought to have plenty of choice, one would imagine?

Merchantinc.com -- Recommended for International sellers. It's a reliable, secure payment processing solution. No setup fees. No cancellation fees. Very low rates. Easy to setup. Perfect for use on websites as well.
