How do I edit it? Is there a easy way?

So far I can only work out how to change the widget bar, but I want to change the sidebar, which is on the far right of my config.

Cheers in advance

Every WP theme is specific in its own way, so it is difficult to give advice without knowing what theme you were trying to edit.

As a general rule: you can edit any template file in your theme folder with a simple text editor and then upload it to the theme folder. I would NOT recommend ever editing template files with the online theme editor - it doesn't have an UNDO button in case you screwed up something...

I think you might have to trying editing the main WP Theme code if you know how to do that. This is cos most themes come with their own kinda of sidebar setting & only editing the code might change them.

To change the sidebar, you will need to go into your theme.

    Ok.
    Step 1.
    Open your Install and login.

    Step 2.
Go to "Appearance" in version 2.8.*.

    Step 3.
Find "Edit Theme" option in left side bar and click it.

    Step 4.
Once page opens, look at the right side of your screen, and you will see.

    Select theme to edit: *

Check that you are editing the correct theme, or change it in the drop down box.

    Step 5.
Look below and Click on the Sidebar.php file to edit.

    Step 6.
Highlight all the code, copy and paste into a Notepad document on your desktop just in case you screw things up.

    Step 7.
    Edit away.

Be careful... You may have more than one sidebar*.php file... you can screw up your theme, ... and be careful.

Also, if these steps seem difficult to you, then you should DEFINITELY avoid doing any of this. At least until you are more confident.

In most cases, sidebar is controlled by sidebar.php , and in few cases, there may be functions file or other files controlling. Hope you find what you want to edit in sidebar.php.
