Get or create a hot product to sell, study copy writing, create webinars and sales videos, create a high converting offer and build a Kick Butt sales funnel. Then blog about it.

    Cheers,
    Steve

Well the first thing I would usually ask is what do you see yourself doing? It can't just all be about money. If you're going to take this seriously, you're going to want to commit long term, which requires (ideally) doing something you love, you're passionate about or... can see yourself doing.

If there are currently marketers / courses you look up to and that have helped you. Then is that the kind of route you want to go down and see yourself pursuing?

There's different roads you can go down (depending on what you want to do). But you may want to consider some of the essentials such as getting a domain, hosting (setting up a wordpress blog), squeeze page and email autoresponder. Then just work on list-building, building relationships and building your content around what your subscribers need help with.

How would you define a "poor budget"?

    You mentioned facebook, however...

You will need some cashola to run paid ads.

I agree with ShaolinSteve. In this situation with minimal funds, a good way to start is to grab a domain, link it to a WP blog, get an autoresponder, build a list, build relationships with your subscribers whilst promoting affiliate products and creating your own products to sell around their needs!

The absolute bestest, best, awesomest way to start for you newbies is to actually read through the forum where thousands before you have asked the same question....

Once you have a better understanding of what is involved you could ask questions that are more focused which will in-turn lead to better answers that will help you much more. These generic "Where to start" questions are of no use and get the same old rehashed answers....

Yes just like salegurus said! These same types of 'lazy' questions keep surfacing here. And even if you keep getting suggestions about the best starting point for you, chances are you will get overwhelmed or maybe even bored and not even read all the suggestions that people are posting right here on this thread.

Go read and read more until you get a vague idea of how this industry works and then start taking action.

Then you will get a better more focused question to answer.

The forum is the best place to start. Here is where I started last year and the education has been great. The forum has the history of the struggles of people that have come before us, and records the successes along the way at what works and what doesn't.

I agree with most of the guys, buy domain, autoresponder... build a list, make a website about someting what is interesting for you, something what you like, its all about your budget... but remember it is not going to be easy, one of the marketers when I started 5 years ago he told me, that I need to spend money to make money and he was right. I started to invest in my bussiness and it worth it. You can try to do everything for free but it will be very very difficult and will take a long time

Simple Create a blog about your ultimate like or passion...
Promote a product that is connected to your passion and put banners on your blog...

and you can also promote a product that you know about that you like.

See if they have affiliate program

Then use a cell phone with a camera and record a review '
or talk about product and upload to YOUTUBE which is free with your affiliate link.

then promote everything to your social media accounts.

I have a few videos I made about this topic pm if you need more info

The first step is often overlooked . . .

Before you get a domain name and set up a blog . . .

Do your market research to identify where there is "demand" for a product or service. You want to be selling something that is in demand, that people are anxious for right now. You're not going to create demand - it is already in the marketplace or not.

The very best to you in this journey.

What are you good at? Can you do graphics, write copy, create videos, or have the ability to sell ice cubes to an Eskimo?

If you have a skill, especially if it's something you really enjoy doing, that is a good starting point. Those types of skills can be offered on sites like Fiverr and Elance.

But my suggestion is to first get a solid education about all that's entailed in making money online, what is required, and what your options are, with the skills, interests, and passions you have.

Here's a link to a very thorough free video course, where you are shown right at the beginning which module to watch, based on your interests.
That way, it doesn't have to take any longer than you want it to.

Once you have that knowledge, you will be much better prepared to make an educated decision about what to do next.

By the way, the course is totally free, and there is no attempt to sell anything.

The videos aren't too long. The information is delivered in bite-sized chunks, and the whole course was made by one of the most successful online marketers, so you can be sure the information is top-notch.

Here's the link: WEB TRAINING BEGINS

I hope this helps. Remember...do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life!
    Good luck

I will say that I made money fairly quickly from a simple video, but I need to be kicked in the pants for not starting list building earlier. When Affiliate sites were more popular, many guys taught getting most of the sales from the site and didn't concentrate on listbuilding as much. Bad mistake and I'm still playing catchup.

Probably an affiliate program or a resell rights package. No matter what you sell or offer, you're going to have to market it superbly anyway. So no escaping this. Some people think they can slide past this loophole by selling on Amazon or Ebay. But at the end of the day, it all boils down to marketing.

Learn how to market online and don't get sucked into every $5,000/hour course you see. Good luck.

Seven years ago I started with Blogging and that's where I got the confidence as I started making money after the first month or so.

It by no means is easy. Plus, you do have to be fairly good at writing.
And have some great ideas and be able to turn those ideas into well constructed Posts.

You have to start learning and doing.

Blogging is a great way to do both at the same time, and it will help you understand yourself and what you are interested in better, get you focused and start building an online presence.

It is a long-term strategy, and you can add things in as you go, like affiliate marketing, create your own product, build a list...all that is mentioned above.

Make a start today, and just do something each day to get a bit closer to your goals.

start a blog and make a squeeze page. sign up to jvzoo and request links to offers in the niche you want to get in. post all that stuff you did on your blog. do some promoting [advertising]

send your subscribers to your blog for updates.

sign up for social sites like linkedin, instagram, youtube, twitter, etc. depending on your niche. use the same image of yourself across them all with all your links made available for someone to connect with you.

Have an upsell. could be a product, service, software, or some biz op company

but start with the squeeze page and the blog.

The secret is to take action. All the wonderings and the “what if’s” in the world is not going to change your life if you take no action. If your friend tells you about a seminar and “that this will be the best seminar ever”, you have to go to the workshop.
Make a video of your life or your dreams, (you don’t have to show it to anyone), start a blog on blogger.com say of your life, its free but get started - Take action, get going, move away from the telle, begin somewhere. There are plenty of free PDF,s about as well Don’t go for the ones with 100 pages that use 36 pt bold print, find ones with good content about a topic that interests you.

    Offer your services online.
What skills do you have that other people need?
Be helpful and once you establish relationship with your audience, you can start offering them affiliate products or your own product.

But I agree with what they've mentioned here about starting a blog and start building your list.

    Ok,

So this might help a lot of people on here so I will make my post a little longer and more of a short rough guide to help anyone who is looking for something to get started on a shoe string budget.

The absolute easiest way to get started making money almost instantly is ebay. I have a few accounts and sell nothing but information products which are burned to disc.

My most recent account (I like to split them and have dedicated accounts for different information areas) was opened about 100 days ago and I started selling about 45 days ago. This account has already pulled in around $1200 after materials, postage and packaging...

All from one simple product that took me about 2 hours to record and edit. I will use this account as an example in this post. Obviously I won't give you niche ideas but I will outline a simple process that you can replicate.

Ok, so without giving everything away... What I do is look for something that sells by the bucket load and in this case I found an item that sells for $70 - $120 all day long.

When I find that item I will see if there is anything to accompany or enhance it. If there is something I will set up a test listing. If the item sells I will then continue with it.

So in my new account I found something that is highly popular and recorded videos showing people how to get the same amazing results as this physical product but setting it up them self at home.

I already knew this one would be a hit before I started selling it. I have had 2 different models of the physical version and they failed to live upto their hype. But setting it up yourself is a lot more stable and cost effective.

What I done was create my product and also created an IM style salespage, listed it for $12.99 and wait for the sales to start pouring in. Until sales pickup I will simply burn the files to disc my self.

Once I hit $55 from sales I will order a batch of 50 discs which come printed with my cover, complete with my files burned onto them and inside a plastic wallet and a box of 50 durable board backed cd mailers.

As soon as they all arrive I will place the discs into the mailers and stamp them all so I have 50 items that just need the address writing on and mailing. All I need to do now is wait until thekids go to bed and spend 20 minutes writing the addresses on the days orders. I then pop them in the mail box when I take the kids to school the next day.

These opportunities are absolutely everywhere on ebay and the possibilities are endless. If you spend a little time looking you will find literally hundreds of ways to sell one simple product.

Whats more once you find an opportunity you will even find a product enhancer you can use yourself right there on ebay.

You can even use a simple trick to blast your items right near the top on the first page, but I will save that for another post.

If you have any questions please do ask and I will be happy to help.

  • Doing something you love is bad advice. Rather, you should be working on a procedure for marketing anything. Take any product and determine the marketing approach for it. Best way to star for me is nothing from these 3 points what you find, because if I am on really poor budget I cannot invest too much in any of these 3 methods. Think about that this way hosting can cost you 10 dollars a month , domain 10 dollars a year.

I suggest you to look at freelancing sites like upwork, fiver or here in section warriors for hire , from there you can earn you start up money and start your blog with nice hosting and professional theme without worrying too much about budget. With money you can then outsource some things like article writing or social media management.

    Hello,
I cried a lot because of your absence ; )

Now, to answer your question: there are many ways to make money. What I would recommend from your choices is blogging. You could mix your blog with affiliate marketing a bit. I mean writing reviews about products and embedding an affiliate link or two.

I mean if you're really passionate with what you are going to blog about, then I highly recommend you to do it! Further, you could make money with Adsense. With a blog there is so much you can integrate.

    Goodluck!

Get your mindset right and never shy away from doing paid ads every single day. Start with a small budget of $10 for example.

Most marketers started with paid ads on a very low scale and when they saw some results, they scaled like crazy.

    Some spend $100-$1000 per DAY.

      I recommend Blogging.

Blogging is great if you are knowable about a particular subject and if you feel you can educate people on it in an informative, entertaining way.

Here is how the process looks like form an Arial view

      1. Determine a niche that you are interested in.

      2. Determine if there is an audience for that niche.

There are many ways to do this and you will have to educate your self on internet marketing, but here is one quick way.

Go to amazon.com and type in a keyword that relates to your niche. If lots of products show up and they have lots of reviews, than this shows you that there are people out there looking to buy things that relate to that keyword.

      3. Determine which products you are going to promote or if you want to develop your own product.

These products should be digital info products as these are easier to set-up and monetize.

You can find affiliate products to promote by going to Clickbank

Here is how you determine if a product is selling well.

Clickbank has a metric that every product get, which is called gravity

"Gravity measures how many UNIQUE Affiliates have made a sale in the past WEEK"

so a gravity of 15.7 means that at least 15.7 unique affiliates have made a sell of that product in the last week, gravity does not take into consideration that these affiliates have also made mutilate sales of that product and that the product owner has also made some sales.

So to determine how well a product is doing, A good rule of thumb is to multiply gravity times at least 4

      So 15.7 X 4 = 63 sales in one week.

This is important because it shows you that other affiliates are having success promoting that particular product.

      4. Build out your website theme.

This the menu bar in your website.

it is how your are going to structure your website so that people can easily maneuver though it and find the information they need.

      5. then you need to write a couple of valuable Blog Post.

This should relate to your target audience.

      6. You need to get traffic to your site.

There are many ways to do this, but a great free method is too become active in your niches forum.

Go into your niches forum and provide value to people, by doing this you will build up a following of people of want to consume your content, and trust your recommendations.

Meaning that you start making money

      Hope that helped.
