So I finally got my website live on the internet. So where to start from here?

It obviously needs to get noticed. So for the FREE METHOD to get it noticed by traffic, how should I go about. I know keyword research is a start but what else?
What would you do if you are promoting your own website to collect traffic.

    At first congratulation friend. Don't think about getting traffic at first stage. Try to put quality content first, focus on your motive or any pre selected keyword. Then better go for gaining visitors and ranking your website. But at first remember, quality of your uploaded contents matter.

    What is your website about ? There are many free website promotional methods but the good ones are niche specific. Depending on your niche and topic there are places where people look for information, products, tutorials, etc.

    Universal free traffic methods are limited in results, but you can start by letting know your friends on facebook, twitter or any other places you hang about your website. Ask them to help you by sharing your content. But this require that you already have quality content posted, else no one will bother sharing it.
