Hey guys, I recently got BIGMike's articlebot software and I'm loving it so far but I have one little thing that's driving me nuts - how do you add new article categories??? The categories that came preloaded aren't anywhere near the category I want to submit to (self-help, self-improvement) - probably the closest I can get is Recreation, which is really off topic. I've searched high and low but can't find any info on adding more categories. The sites I want to submit to DO have the self-help categories, I just can't get the software to indicate them! ![]() Help please anyone who has encountered this problem! Wendy |

With a majority of the article directory sites, the owner/admin/webmaster will assign your article to whatever category they want it in...when they approve it. Everyone of those AD sites has a different category structure making it impossible for any application/script to predict what's going to be the case when your articles gets there. Just make the best assignment you can and send it. They see the Article Bot categories as suggestions anyway..then assign it to where they want it on their site. |

Thanks Nebraska! Will they take the time to put it into the right category? I was thinking they'd just reject it. LOL I'd still love to find a way to get at least close to the right category in the future. I did just submit an article to Recreation, let's see what happens I guess! Thanks for your thoughts. We've worked out a schema to handle this, but Nebraska is right - it's damn near impossible. It will allow you to be more specific and reaches a fairly good compromise between redundantly setting a category for every service and automation. Look for a number of SocialBot upgrades throughout the summer and then the BIG one in the fall |

Thanks Mike! I understand that you can't add all categories because every directory is different - I was just afraid my articles wouldn't be accepted if the category was way off, but maybe not! For now I'm just going with the closest one I can find. I just submitted the first article today so I'll see in a few days how many of them got published and if they were moved to a different category. I'm mainly using this program to build backlinks anyway, I do have several directories I submit to by hand so I can pick the category. ![]() I also got your social bot and directory bot so those will help too! ![]() Do I have to do anything to add this schema or will it do it on its own? (what the heck is a schema anyway? lol )Wendy |

Also break up your directory submissions into 20 or so per profile. Name them by site...like mysite.com1, mysite.com2, etc and assign 20 directories per. Go in every couple days and just submit one group at a time. The directories will approve them as they get around to it, and segmenting them will spread them out a bit more. If you do them all at once, Google, Bing and yahoo will end up discounting them altogether as they'll not appear to be organic. Spread out is the best way. I have a site that I paid $30 for 200 directory submissions for. The vendor did em all at once and that site sits to this day with zero backlinks...so be aware. Might even scale em back to once per week if it's only your sites you're working with. It will pay off in the end. | |

Thanks so much for that info Nebraska! That's really helpful. I haven't started using those two bots yet but this will come in handy when I do; I'm saving it now so I don't lose this thread! ![]() Wendy Quote:
