Has anyone ever used Google Chrome for PC? And what are your experiences and verdict so far? I have been using Firefox but lately it hangs alot? I have ZoomAlarm and ForceField installed. I switched from IE8 to Firefox because I want a more secure browser. Also, Firefox is not working well with eBay. Any insights? Thanks, Eleanor |

I use Chrome all the time. It's much faster than most other browsers and the address bar also works as the search box. I do find that inserting hyperlinks (for example) in online forms doesn't work sometimes. I use Firefox with Aweber or if I want to add a hyperlink to a graphic in Blogspot. But, yes, I really do use it all the time otherwise. |

I use it and I love it. It's heaps faster than Firefox for me. The only thing I dislike is that I'm constantly paranoid. When I go off building links to my sites I somehow get it in my head that Google is going to connect the dots that I'm the one building links to these sites. |

I also use both firefox and chrome. The best feature I like about chrome is it places your most frequented websites on the firstpage of each tab and stores your username and password so you can log right in. You don't have to put each site in the browser. Also alerts you if a site has a trojan or any other kind of spyware on the site like firefox does.

I like Google Chrome, and my brother loves that you can press ctr+shift+N and open an "incognito" mode, where no info or history is stored. Personally, I'm sticking with Firefox for now because some of the add-ons, but I'll eventually switch to Chrome because I'm a Google fan, and I'll probably be an early adapter to the recently announced Google Chrome OS. |

If Chrome added Roboform for addons and more customizable features I would use it all the time. It is by far the fastest browser I use.

Google Chrome is a very nice browser to me, though I can't tell if it makes the pages load faster, One disadvantage is that toolbars are not available, or is there a way of putting them in? Though it's not my primary browser, I use IE 8 and firefox sometimes.I do miss a lot of useful toolbars when using chrome that's why I don't use it too often. Like the SEO and roboform toolbar- two great tools I make use of every munite. |

I did use Chrome as my main browser for a couple of weeks but backing up bookmarks wasn't as easy as ff. Also really use the Web Developer Toolbar (ff) a lot. Went back to ff. But this was in the early days so maybe it's time to give it another try. |

I get bouts of paranoia too, but that sort of behavior is probably illegal and could land them in hot water with the government. I wonder how long it will be before the government goes after them for monopolistic practices. Better them then small guy blogs...

I used it a lot for awhile. It has a lot of good points. Now I use Seamonkey mostly. It's fast and does most of what I need on a daily basis. Chrome is invasive and tricky to uninstall completely. |

If anyone is worried about Google tracking their data you should take a look at these options: Three Ways to Enjoy Google Chrome Without Privacy Concerns (Not my site) I have used the Iron browser and like it. I won't be completely switching until more addons are ported over. I simply have too much I use in Firefox. |

Google Chrome is now my browser of choice. I went from IE > Opera > Firefox > Chrome Firefox has way more features but for me it's been crashing a lot lately and I now only use it for SEO Quake. |

I now use Chrome as my primary browser... I also use Flock quite a bit. I may be the only person on the forum who doesn't really like Firefox... lol Tsnyder |

I use both Firefox and Chrome and like them both. However, I seem to spend more time in Firefox due to the plugins and add-ons that I have installed. I have no technical issues with Chrome that I can report.

Chrome is a very, very good browser. As many other members have stated, it's quite fast. But I can't give up the immense functionality, flexibility, and personalization that Firefox allows. I know that Chrome will continue to develop over time, but I've been working with Firefox for years now and some of the addons I use I have come to consider "necessities" - not only for business purposes but for every day web enjoyment as well. That being said, I keep Chrome installed and use it occasionally for several reasons - the primary one being to ensure that my websites are rendering properly in it as well as all the other browsers! (except IE6, of course) -DareDevil |

OK, I have installed Chrome and yeah it loads really fast and I don't have that nasty Yahoo mail 21 error. So, so far so good. One problem though, when viewing the images I have on my blog it becomes distorted or more specifically elongated. This happens when the original image is too large and I have to scale it down by entering width=30%, etc. Does anyone know how I can fix this? See it here: Thanks, Eleanor |

Been using Google Chrome for 2 weeks now. So far so good, I prefer using this now compared to my IE8, Opera and Firefox. Again, this is one good browser. P.S. PC user here.

I've experince a lot in Firefox that it hangs all the time it loads slower but it good to use if you are not working. I use Google Chrome if I start to work.

Hey Eleanor, The problem you have with that image isn't Chrome, it's the html code. It's just that your previous browser may not have been displaying the code correctly, whereas Chrome is showing you how it really looks. In your html, you have the following: <img src="http://www.onlinegreatfind.com/what's in a name.jpg" width=80% height=80% alt="what's in a name.jpg" /> Because the height and width are set in percentage, the image is trying to take up 80% of the allowed space, each way. Instead, what you need is a pixel value for both height and width. The true dimensions of that image are 433 wide by 340 high, so to make it 80% size, you would need to set it as 346 wide by 272. By the way Chrome is my personal browser of choice, and I love it due to the fact it is lightning fast. With the amount of time I spend browsing, the speed really makes a huge difference. But, it still has many bugs. You often can't copy text or images from the browser, WYSIWYG editors (such as the post editor here) often don't work, and there tends to be video playback hiccups as well. My approach is I use Chrome for all browsing, and I use Firefox if Chrome chokes on something. |

You are a life-saver. I've fixed them. Yes, yesterday I was trying to fill in online application, and it didn't get sent. Was told it was chrome issue and when I changed to IE, it got sent. I guess we just have to bear with them and switch around browsers most suitable to the task. Thanks, Eleanor

Yeah it's true. My basic rule of thumb is if I'm getting data out of the web, ie browsing, I use Chrome. If I'm putting data into the web, ie. using forms and so on, I use Firefox. Chrome will get sorted out eventually, but for now it's still buggy, albeit super fast buggy! |
