Default Using Your Name in Auto Responders??

Is it helpful to use your name in the From section of the auto responder...or the site name or doesn't it matter.

So if your site was Acne No More is it best that the list get the email from Acne No More or from Doug Bxxxx ?

Also on email does it work better to have

DougBxxx@acnenomore

or

info@acnenomore

or doesnt it matter?

Thanks!

It depends on whether you want to brand yourself or your website/company name.

For my niche sites I use the website name, and in the IM niche I use my own name. Personally, in the IM niche I am definitely more inclined to open emails from individuals as opposed to companies/websites.

I'll second Gary's views. Personally I try to stay away from companies in the IM niche. With emails you would want to build a relationship with the recipient. I think the best way to do this is with your name.

Also by using your name, and by providing useful content to your mailing list, people would possibly recognise you as an expert in that field (obviosuly it depends how you go about it).

But i suppose their are pros and cons to both methods.

Hope this helps.

I agree with Gary and MrEyeconic -

I use my full name in the "from" section for any emails that I send out and use the domain name when writing emails for my clients that have ecommerce type sites.

Because the ecommerce sites are more "corporate" in nature, I use the domain name whenever I write emails for them.

I use my email to build a relationship. In non Im niches, people think that I email them like their friend would do, and I get many replies because of this.
