Upselling a second CB account

Hi Guys,

I'm sure you experts can answer this one for me.

Suppose I have 'Product A' on Clickbank, and also Product B on a separate CB account.

An affiliate sells Product A to a customer.

I want to introduce that new customer to Product B in such a way that the affiliate automatically gets the commission on Product B as well as Product A. Remember that the products are on two separate CB accounts (i.e. two hoplinks).

You can see the picture. An affilate pushes someone to buy Product A, a book. The book itself refers to Product B, a membership site. So the customer goes to B and buys it. How do I make sure the affiliate gets the full commission on both products?

Hope you can help.

Best regards

Some PHP should fix this... though I don't know if it'll work if your ebook is in PDF format, I would imagine it only working if the Ebook/Product is hosted on a site.

What I mean by 'some php' is PHP code that basically pulls the end of a specific tracking code (AFF ID) from the browser url itself (or another location) and places it inside of the URL to product B.

This could work with a custom Database and some PHP coding, or just PHP coding. Could also be made using another Coding Language.

Though I could be wrong - ask a Programmer.

    Just my 2c.

    Cheers

      Here is an idea.

      - Add Product B as an additional item (say item 2) in the account of Product A

      - The sales page is a duplicate of the original but with a payment link

      http://item-2.account-a.pay.clickbank.net

      - The book refers to the duplicate page.

One possible problem is if you have other pages such as an FAQ or About page which refer back to the original
home page. You would need to have code that ensures the return is to the duplicate page.

    Hi Phil,

I can answer this for you. Our PitchPlus system has the ability to offer upsells across accounts. When you build your PitchPlus flow, in the product selection editor, choose "Other" from the Product dropdown box. When you do this, two new fields will be displayed for Vendor and Product. This is where you will put in your other account nickname and the ID of the product you are selling from that account.

On the pitch page for this offer, you'll want to make sure you use the nickname associated with product B's account for the paylink such as: 35.myotheraccount.pay.clickbank.net/?cbur=a You should follow our standard requirements for including both accept (e.g., ?cbur=a) and decline (e.g., ?cbur=d) payment links on the page.

You will also notice the commission field on the editor. The commission value you set for this field will apply and override the commission set for the product in your other account, if you choose to use it.

When transactions occur, your initiating account will display a transaction that shows a receipt in the "Has Upsells" column (see transaction screen). That receipt will belong to the other account you own which can be viewed within that other account. The initiating account will not receive any payment for that sale from the one time offer.

The commissions for both sales will be paid to the originating affiliate. If you would like funds to be shared on the transaction within the originating account, you must use a JV Upsell Contract. This will allow you to share funds from Product B's account back to Product A when a cross-account upsell occurs.

    I hope this helps.

The problem is that PitchPlus is not appropriate in this situation.

The OP wants the upsell to be made from a link in the book

  • Many thanks, Guys.

The problem becomes ever more complex if you include Aweber integration, but that's another can o' beans.

Product A is a new eBook. I think the easiest solution, the one I was working on, is to simply eliminate mentioning product B in the book, and in the autoresponders, and let the affiliate do it in a follow up email. It's not elegant, but it would work, I think.
