Making this forum smaller

Is there any way to make the width of this forum smaller as I am using a 17" monitor and I have to scroll left and right to read the posts

Hold Ctrl down and use the center button on your mouse to scroll... that might do what you want it to. One way makes it bigger, one way makes it smaller.

Tried it, but it's the words that get bigger or smaller, the width of the forum still stay the same!

That's odd. It works for the whole thing in IE and FF for me.

Lemme guess... You're using Explorer? If so, the version likely has a bug. That's not how that feature is supposed to work...

I have both IE and FF, but use FF most of the time, I can scroll to the right to read the posts in one screen, but that means I cannot see who is the poster on the left, so I want to view all in one screen.

That'll do it for sure. First time I read the title of this thread I thought you wanted to get rid of some of the members!

Damn. Here I was thinking this would be a thread call to action for banning all the newbs and bogus post count pimps. I was hoping for a big massive campaign speech for why this forum should completely change it's application policy to discourage spammers and otherwise useless knuckleheads throwing bad advice after stupid question.

    Oh well.

      Try using CTRL - Minus

Hold down the control key (assuming a PC) and tap the dash key. That works just fine in Firefox. Might be too small in IE, as that takes it to 75% right away. If that's a problem, and you're using a newer version of IE, click on the Zoom Level control (lower right hand corner of the browser window) and select custom. 90% leaves it still readable.

Im using a 8 inch monitor and don't have a problem lol

But i think mr2monster will have solved your problem. Maybe your screen resolution too or whatever setting that is!

Is it the same for other sites too??

If holding the control button and moving the mouse didn't work then just try changing the resolution. I am on a 15" monitor and I don't have a problem.

Vista scales all images (by default) when doing the mouse zoom method.

When I came back from holiday a fortnight ago, I turned my puter on and found that my monitor had pined away and died after a week without me. Touching... hmm? I had to use an old 17" monitor from up in the loft until the new arrival turned up from Amazon. I had the same problem with the forum (few other places online, though) and just about every application I use on a daily basis. It drove me nuts for about four days before my monitor got here, and I was so pleased to see the delivery man I could have kissed him.

I hope you find a solution - I never did.

Well firstly, I would like to say that this thread is definitely in the wrong section of the forum, but that will make me pass of as being as a jerk. :p

Anyways, have you tried changing down your resolution for your computer screen? Also, I thought that reducing the font size should help in this problem. Hmm.

But it shouldn't be a monitor problem if other forums can load up fine...

        Really weird glitch here!
