Hosting a genric blog with various post. Will it work?

I'm starting a blog right now that will host various posts/topics across many categories and areas. I'll be finding good keywords to go for where ever I find them so the blog will be diverse and not on any one topic. In your opinions is this feasible? I know it might hurt user retention but as far as making conversions from those who land on the page from search engines will it work you think?

A lot will depend on how you do your searches and the topics you chose. As for your question if it is feasible, probably not, in my opinion. However, with good content providing value to customers... it could work. Most sites are going towards specific niche authority sites. You could make that an authority sites dealing with all topics. Line the articles up where you can test which ones do well and it will help give you direction. The customers will tell you what they like.

I wouldn't do it, if I were you. With all those SEO optimised badass blogs out there, your generic version doesn't stand a chance, most probably. Also, why would you want to have so much work with content and marketing, if you can focus on some specific topic and make more money with your efforts in it?
