Are these domains worth anything?

I have been wanting to try domain flipping for a while and I ended up buying 2 domains that I believed to be valuable.

bestdriversdownload.com
sourcegamers.com

They have been on sedo for a while ( I priced them at £100 less than the suggested price too) and have gotten no interest.

Any suggestions?

(edit: Also does anyone know how/who to contact people who might be interested? Do you have more success from forums, or direct emails?)

To be honest I think you'll struggle to sell either of those at any price.

I'm no expert in valuing domain names, but for me they both have no relevance to anything. And for this reason I can't see why anyone would want to buy them off you.

Sorry to say, but what does "bestdriversdownload" even mean ? I just can't see what business or niche that could even relate to.

I don't mean to be rude at all, but if I were you I'd set the price really low and just be happy if you get back more than you paid.

    Unfortunately, no.

I've been a professional domainer and website developer for many years. If they had worth, I'd tell you. I'd likely buy them.

This is a very stressful and depressing market to learn. I thought they would be worth at least a small profit. Back to square one I suppose, thanks for your replies

It doesn't have to be stressful. You just got to think of valuable names that people may want for their business.

It may be worth your time going and looking at the new domain extensions that are coming out and hope to grab a good one before anyone else does.

I dabbled briefly in this a while ago and made some money. I had a domain that was drinksonline."xx" (won't reveal the real extension) and someone paid me $295 for it a few months later and I only paid $10 to get it. That was sold through Sedo.

Just use your head a bit and don't go buying any old domain name.

Respectfully, you need to know how to do this before you start buying domains for resale.

It must be possible to put together a list of people who sell/promote "driver downloads", mostly through Google, though?

The other one I can't offer any suggestion for, because I don't understand it, to be honest (I'm very non-techie ).

Please excuse my mentioning that I don't see value in either domain.

But here's the main thing for you to understand, I think, that might help you: domain-names don't have any "objective" or "verifiable" value beyond their reg-fees. What a domain is worth to you, depends on what someone will pay you for it, and that in turn depends on your skills at identifying, approaching and negotiating with parties to whom the name might have artificial added value not because of the domain-name itself but because of their own business activities. It's common, and normal, for a domain to be worth 5 times as much to one person as to another.

From forums?! No, not at all. All the success I've ever had with buying and selling domain-names has been through direct emails. That's the underlying nature of the business. Their real value depends on your notifying the right people that they're for sale. No good just "listing/advertising them for sale and hoping for the best".

LOL. It seems like it's a guessing game and I've not had much
luck with that either. I have domains for over 8 years now that
I hope to sell and they just linger on Sedo.

For example when the TrafficSecrets course came out I grabbed
blogtrafficsecrets.com thinking it would be the next evolution of
this course but it never worked out.

This is a tricky area and definitely not for dabblers like me.

The first domains I tried to sell, I thought were worth thousands. Lol, was I wrong. But seriously, unless your domains have some serious backlinks or high social or search engine ranking, they won't be worth much. The domains that are established and come with backlinks, ranking, brand, and traffic sell at the highest. The actual name in the domain name is only part of it.

    Kingyohime,

Why not choose a nice niche that one of the words in the domain fit into, start a simple website, start getting some decent links and build their value?
