Top Domains as starter sites? Help please

Hello Warriors,

I own a couple of high end domains that I am willing to develop. Most of the keywords for EACH of these domains are extremely competitive, even the long tail words (down to search volume 100).
Each of these exact match domains (length = 11-13) and are 2 words at most.
Is it possible to just build them into starter sites and maybe get approached by competitors to advertise for them?

The thing is I invested multi-thousands in each, and its very tough to wait for an end user to buy each.

Anyone had a similar experience?
Appreciate all feedback.

Thanks in advance.

It depends a lot on what the domain names are, what the targeted keywords are, and what the competition for those keywords is.

A low number of words and length (especially past 5 chars) do not add any value simply for brevity. Again, it would depend on the keywords and niche whether that has any value.

Exact Match Domains do not get the same SEO boost that they used to. EMDs are still effective for very low competition keywords. But once competition for the first page of Google heats up, there are many other SEO factors that are more important than EMD.

If you just want to sell/flip the domains then you would need to work hard to find a buyer. It's hard to tell without knowing the domains, but waiting for someone to come by and offer might be a long wait.

Setting up some sites and getting ranked would increase the value and saleability.

If they are worth thousands (as you paid) you may be able to find a broker to sell them if you don't mind giving up a commission.

One of them for example is :
Ptsd Treatment .com (Straight no hyphens or anything)
Its a 10K Local exact search and CPC of around $6.
Its really worthy to try to develop it and ultimately sell it for 50K+ but ranking is really tough, most first page results are DA 60+
I cant sell the domain right away, coz the most ultimate buyer is the US Government and I really struggled to reach out to the right decision makers, so maybe the website will grab their attention more?

You really think the government is interested in PTSD Treatment?

I would think your target market would be service providers who treat PTSD.

Who wants the traffic when a soldier searches "PTSD Treatment" in order to spend his benefits?

And who pays more for traffic, the government or medical companies?
