Opinions - What would you do with this

Ok, after looking through a GREAT thread in the warroom (if you're not in there, you're missing out) i decided to throw together a really simple little review site for clickbank products. All are in the 'self help' niche, containing diet, 'get your ex back' and a few others like acne..etc.

The site is about 2 days old. In the warroom's example, this was a simple little site, that started picking up traffic out of nowhere. So i wanted to do a little experiementing to see if i could figure out what was causing the sales. The original site's copy is not pushy in anyway, relatively short, but very well written.

I did the copy on my site myself. Now i'm not a copywriter, but I think the copy is passable and is written with keywords in mind

With all the SEO on the site (its a basic wp site), its been run through webseo and submitted to most search engines. Its not dmoz submitted yet.

I decided to try adwords, thinking if organic searches are doing well, maybe a little push and they will do better. I picked search terms that were almost non-existent for local searches but monthly global searches are atleast 2000+ and quite a few are 20k+ globally and NO competition (according to google keyword tool) so people are looking for these keywords (they are in the diet niche). The bonus is the cpc on all of them is only .05 apiece. So i threw 100 in adwords and away we go. Like i said, just testing here, not a full on campaign.

In 24 hours the site has recieved 160 new visitors, they are staying on the site an average of 1:30, and going an average of 2 pages deep in the site, with a 50% bounce rate, but no sales through cb. Even the small adwords skyscraper i have to the side is barely getting attention.

I'm thinking that its the copy on the site and maybe I need to have someone more skilled that myself write the copy to push people out to the final purchase

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Well, if you feel the copy is great, it might be your keywords.

Finding "no competition" keywords in the diet niche, seems too good to be true to me, so that might be one of the reasons. And have you tried to submit preselling articles based on those keyword you have found? That might work better, as you can get them all warmed up, reading your articles.

Yeah, i think the keywords may be the deal too. but traffic is coming in at a pretty steady rate and i could see the kw's being a believable search term/string for the average person looking for diet stuff. I just dont know why there would be no local searches but like 10,000 or 15,000 monthly global searches for those kw's that really are something that's searched when looking for diet stuff. Its also interesting (to me atleast.) that the bulk of the traffic is coming from India. When i think 'people looking for diet books' India isnt the first area that comes to mind.

I was getting ready to say the same thing Preben did but got sidetracked. It looks like it is your keywords. There is a reason there are a lot of searches but low competition.

One of the worst things that can happen in PPC is find keywords that get you clicks but not sales. I would go back to the drawing board on your keywords and try to identify what keywords people use when they are ready to buy (such as the product name).

Here is something i find interesting. Like i said, the bulk of the traffic is pouring in from india. Analytics pinpoints the builk of the traffic coming from Chennai. I go to google and just do a quick search for chennai, seems like a decent sized place in india. I do a search for 'chennai spam' and apparently this city is apparently a peer for Nigeria when it comes to spam and scamming. Ther are a lot of articles on the net about internet scams and spammers that are originating there

OK basically you don't need to copy all the site content because it is against on the rule. You must re-write it in your own way to make it look good and also it will not be too silly to read a niche which is the same on the original one.
