What a CRAZY way to make money online.

All I know is that my 4-yr old daughter loves watching
these videos on YouTube, but what I didn't know was
that the owner made so much money last year alone.

The highest YouTube earner of 2014 made nearly $5 million just by opening Disney toy packages -- Fusion

Yep, I I have heard about that.

    Pretty fascinating.

There is definitely a Market for this. And this person has met this Market with striking precision

Crazy isn't it!! What's even more crazy is the people who are making millions by playing video games like PewDePie... personally, my 7 year old son has shown me hundreds of them but I still don't get it. The good news is that if you're creative enough there's still a lot of untapped markets on Google that can make money.

Just read the article. Really impressive. "The Wheels on the Bus" makes close to 3 mil. My 2 yr old nephew has contributed a lot to that amount lol.

To me, this is proof that you make it in one of those "passion" niches that many people think you can't make money in. It takes a sound marketing mind, something that many people don't realize (and many who realize it don't realize that they don't have that mind).

If there were only a way to predict these things. Of course there is
going to be a lot of copycats but when you are the first and are
consistent it's hard to catch up.

I wonder what other things people like to watch other people do?

[No. Not that one. Everybody knows that one makes the most
money online and is responsible for most of the traffic. It must
    be moral and legitimate.]

I once stumbled upon this video of a garbage truck picking up trash. I was like "man this is the weirdest thing." Then I noticed on the right side of my screen were a ton more videos about that same thing. I had literally stumbled upon this strange sub culture of people who liked to film garbage trucks. It was the strangest thing ever. The videos had lots of comments and lots of views AND I made it through like 10 of them before I realized that I really don't care about garbage trucks and the insanity must END! lol.

Anyways. True story. There are certainly a lot of weird things out there that people latch on to.

What a great way to make money online! Buy one popular toy in a box at Amazon every day, spend a couple of minutes opening the box and putting the toy together online, tell what your impressions are, and you're done. Maybe 10 minutes of work a day with no substantial startup cost, no scripts to pre-write, and a simple video to upload daily to YouTube. No customers, no fuss, no problems!

I wonder what they do with the toys afterwards? Most likely sell locally (maybe
they own a toy store) or sell on eBay. Now we know what the fad with Christmas
morning was all about--just seeing those toys box opened.

Who cares? When you're averaging $13,700 per day, you can afford to throw away a toy a day.

Actually, you have pretty much described what an 8 year old boy named Evan with a Youtube toy review channel does -- he has nearly a hundred million subscribers and over 800 million views!

His videos are so popular and watched so much that toy manufacturers now send him loads of toys consistently for him to review -- he doesn't even need to have his parents buy them anymore!

Meet Evan-tube, the kid YouTube toy review sensation - Money - TODAY.com

It is estimated his channel makes well over a million dollars per year now, which isn't bad at all for an elementary school kid.

Yep I have heard about this. Really cool. Yeah, not to shabby of a payout for a school kid I must say

Funny part is thats an untapped niche haha. I know only a few people doing reviews on toys. The tech market is really competitive tho like phone and gadget reviews. I think a cool way to make money on YouTube would be filming yourself going to toys r us or a gamestop and finding items to buy. Or maybe a YouTube channel based on going to amusement parks and riding every single ride and buying every single item at the theme park lol.

the "unboxing" phenomena esp phones/gadgets is just bizarre. I don't get it. Reviews are helpful, but watching someone literally opening a box is beyond me.

Wow was not expecting this. I was surprised enough when people watch others play video games but now they watch people open up toy boxes! Hey good for her. It's mind blowing knowing that people can make this kind of money doing almost anything on YouTube.

Yes, my husband watches videos of people opening "gadgets" that he's interested in... I always thought to myself how boring that was...and then lately I've heard that people are indeed making money from doing these things....goes to show you that video marketing works, and we need to spend a little extra time "thinking outside the box" when it comes to earning an income online... it can be done... and "weird" often sells pretty good, too. ha!

My 3 year old son watches trains going by videos. Some of these vids have hundreds of thousands of views or even millions.

Just take a tripod and camera to the tracks and have a picnic.

Same thing with trucks and construction equipment.

There are lots of people who try out something, without even thinking that they will get rich from it, and after a while - surprise! Their story gets shared all over the internet. Here's another example, of a guy who simply sold pictures on Instagram and didn't even expect any feedback..

Yeah there's a lot of channels who do it but that's the most successful one. The niche is called "unboxing"

The number one channel in terms of views and subs is still Pewdiepie who earns millions per year for playing games and shouting a lot lol.

I can't believe these people are making more money than me. Guess we have to re-define "marketing ingenuity" now. I'll tell you what though... there's a guy on Youtube who takes serious detail into creating his Youtube videos. Almost all of his videos have over 1,000,000 views. Go to Youtube and type in "Spider Dog" and you will see the dude i'm talking about.

By the way... be prepared to laugh incredibly hard at the video too.
