How to monetise a Forex website?

Hi there,
My name is Errol, I am the head of marketing for an online software company that licenses trading tools to major brokers. We are in the forex industry. We want to find out more about remarketing or any way of monetising our website.

Our website gets about 25,000 unique users a month. But these are highly valuable visits simply because they have been referred to the website by 40 of the biggest Forex Brokers in the world who are our partners that we license our product to. So the users who visit our website are already qualified leads that trade real money with a broker.

We are looking to use this traffic to create another revenue stream. The thing is we cant use any adverts (banners etc ) on our website because our broker partners wouldn't approve.

So we were thinking about using remarketing - but not bringing them back to our website but advertising affiliates or something else to them.

So just to be clear - we are not looking for new leads, we are looking for a way to use our leads to bring in more revenue.

Can anyone help?

Can't you try building a list from that traffic and then market products to the list?
At least that would not involve a banner ad on your site.
Thats assuming your partners wouldn't disapprove a simple signup box on your site though,.....or is that also classified as a banner ad?

Well we actually have a large email list already. We tried once selling a product to this list but the conversions were terrible.

If you dont plan on remarketing to them through email then the other way would be to use Adwords and set up a Remarketing campaign.

The user visits your site, a cookie is then placed on their computer, then you could run ads targeting those people with link to wherever you want. You partners would have no way of knowing that you are targeting these people.

Email list compilation and marketing is the only solution I can think of. If you failed in your first attempt, there could be a reason for that. May be address that reason first.

Email list is not the only solution. They already have visitors to their site every day. They could run a remarketing campaign using adwords once they have the code and tracking installed and target those users through display ads.

Offer them a different product. One product got terrible conversion that doesn't meant the list is bad,may be the product was the bad one or you were unlucky . so,try a different one and keep updating here.

Sell them signals, I have a friend who is in Forex. Either signals or a bot that can help them trade better. If they aren't converting they aren't good leads.

  • If you are B2B then the usual "spam the list, offer some crap e-book for an email address " etc won't cut it. In fact, it will hurt you.

Network/ face to face/ joint ventures, cross promotion
