Make Product WSO or Not?

Would it better to release your first product that has a ton of value as a WSO or is it a better to just launch it as your own?

I came across an article outside of the forum that advised to only launch a WSO if you have over 100 posts.

What do you guys think?

Why not do both? Testing it out as a WSO allows you to get started and test the concept. No reason why you can't re-release the product later on or close the WSO and privately sell the product.

So, for instance once the WSO is on the second page and I'm not getting any more sales, I can close the thread and then promote it on my own website?

How long after the WSO release would you recommend someone close it?

Well, I would recommend to continue bumping as long as you're profitable.

A good idea though would be to reach out to some affiliates. When I launched my WSO, I didn't have affiliates or anybody helping out... but I am pretty well known in certain parts of this forum, and have been around for a while so I clearly have an advantage that you don't right now.

Was there anything in particular you did when approaching affiliates?

Did you just simply say you had a new product and needed some help to promote it?

Were they just affiliates from Warrior Forum or did you just go over to Clickbank?

I STILL don't have affiliates, and not really wanting to get any for this particular WSO. It's done just fine without them. I was just saying, since you don't have a following here, you may want to team up with someone, maybe check out the Joint ventures part of the forum?

I dont think the number of posts that you have is a really big deal. As long as you have a great product, a great sales copy, and social proof (ie:reviews) you have a good chance of suceeding with your WSO.

How many reviews would you think is sufficient?

It's not about the number of reviews.

It's about four other things ...

                    (i) Who the reviewers are (are they respected Warriors)?

(ii) Did they buy and pay for the product and say so: freebie reviewers, naturally enough, don't influence anyone much because they come across as (and indeed are) incentivized?

(iii) Did they use the product or just comment on what it looks like?

                    (iv) What were their results?

These (understandably enough?) are what the sales will depend on, I think. I suspect that it's because so many WSO sellers don't quite appreciate this that so many WSO's sell so few copies?

                    .

I very much do and understand now that it's more than just about using the reviews to put up on your sales page. Thanks for broadening my view on reviews.

    Yeah, you can do both..

As for the WSO thing, if this is your first WSOs perhaps you can give it away for FREE with W+ platforms in WF Classified Ads to build your credibility inside the forum..

I'm sure it will boost your conversions a lot when you released a new product (paid ones) since people know that you always over delivers with your products

Giving it away for free or even finding a JV to attach to a launch and give as a bonus are two things I have definitely considered.

So many options and so much more to think about.

I'm really understanding now just how much work launching a new product is.

I thought the hardest part was over actually writing it, but clearly I was wrong.

Now, lets assume I go with the WSO, is it okay to promote my WSO on my website?

Create a $5 nobrainer wso to build a buyers list, if it has shitloads of value then you're gonna have lots of repeat business once you set up a funnel a products.

If your copy is good you're also going to get affiliates promoting your stuff, be generous and give high comissions because the backend is where it's at.

Or you can self-host it first, test out the numbers, and if it does really well...

Then you will have some solid data to help get affiliates and launch it out of the park (that would be the plan, right?)

First ever product launch as a WSO get a bit of traffic and some experience behind you before you do self hosted launches then simply keep on going

If the product has exceptional value then most of your concerns fly out the window. A few years back I launched an info product (not MMO related) and it ended up as WSO/day, grossing $11,000 inside of 40 days. Since then I have sold it in another half dozen venues. I've had the price all over the map from $4.99 to $37 and it's sold exceptionally well in all price ranges.

I had W+ affiliates here but they didn't show up until they saw the product take off. Regardless of what anyone says, the absolute BEST way to attract affiliates is to let them see your offer start to get a lot of sales. They do that by checking W+ stats. JVZoo has the equivalent. I don't know much about the WF platform so I can't comment on that. Once any product shows signs of life everyone and their sister jumps on the bandwagon. Imagine seeing several paypal notices a minute showing up in your email for three or four hours on the day of launch.

None of this would have happened had the product not been exceptional. So if you have something that really appeals to the demographic here, then just launch it and see what happens. You can spend $5 at the Warriors Looking To Hire You forum and get some reviews to kick off your launch. And if the product is really great people will start showing up in your thread with unsolicited reviews. Don't worry about having your offer in more than one place. It's not a problem. And don't worry about screwing up. You can always change things a bit and relaunch at a later date if you need to. Good luck.

Knowing that I can relaunch later in case things go sour really make me feel a lot better. For some reason I just thought you had one chance to get it right.
