Why is there already a website with my domain?

Im new to this affiliate marketing. However recently i have purchased a domain name and i which was available but go on to find when i type this domain name in a website already appears, can anyone help me with this.
*Note* i have only recently bought this domain, within 18 hours of this thread and have only recently linked my domain name to my hosting account.

Any help will be appreciated,
