Which of these domain/website names sounds best?

Hey Warriors!

Thinking of starting a tech website, I have the concept figured out and everything, just need a catchy domain name for the site!

And I know, all the best ones are taken, what to do? I have a domain name named karlstech.com, but I want to consider other options first!

techmecka.com
techspotone.com
techmosphere.com

Please share your thoughts and perhaps some other names!

I'm not keen on the first one, at all, Karl, because of its potential religious connotations (and potential for misspelling).

The second one may also not be ideal, because its pronunciation isn't instinctively clear (often a cognitive drawback, with domain-names, though people rarely think about it): it takes a second or two to see that its spells out "tech spot one" rather than being some long word that rhymes with "Toblerone". Two hyphens would solve that problem, but at the cost of being a domain-name with two hyphens, which I know some people don't like (though I do, myself.)

    Techmosphere looks nice, to me.

Here are two websites Steve Browne kindly shared with me, which might be helpful for "thinking up good domain-names" ...

    Lean Domain Search

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of any but if forced to choose I'd agree with Alexa: Techmosphere.com.

How set are you on having 'tech' in the domain? There are plenty of tech sites that have been branded around works like geek, gadget, PC, etc. Others like TheVerge, Gizmodo, DigitalTrends are out there. Just something to consider.

Kind of tough to recommend anything without knowing more about the product/site.

I like Karlstech to be honest with you.

What about "techonator" or techsmart. ( not sure if they are available)

Have you tried to use the online thesauras for alternative words in this niche?

I have found this useful when choosing domain names in the past.

Yes, most of the good words and combinations are taken, to no surprise!

      I agree.

I'm just writing this because I got a message saying that I have to write at least 10 characters

I think Techmosphere is best and to be honest, it's probably irrelevant. I think it's more important to avoid reasons NOT to go on a site. For example the mecka one might be misconstrued as a muslim specific site, or Karlstech might be misconstrued as some small site by a mini blogger or something. What will make people click on your site is the ad targetting, then it's about a link rather than the name of the site. I couldn't even tell you the name of the site for the last review I looked at....I just clicked on what I thought has the info I wanted. You know a quick glance at the ad text then on the website you're about o click on and you just do it. Obviously if the ad say something tech related but the website is steamingturd.org or something I wouldn't click there.

Thank you for the replies so far!

Those three listed are just three that I found to be available, whereas techmosphere is the best one of them.

I don't necessarily need to have "tech" in the name, if you have any other ideas of relevant names to the tech business, then please share!

Not sure if you're looking to invest in a domain but there are quite a few on Flippa/Sedo. For example, Flippa has a 'make offer' on Geekful.com at $100 and it's been listed for 6 months and expires in 28 days. May be able to get a good deal over there if you see one you like.

Judging by your other thread, it looks like you're interested in a tech review/compare site?

      Thanks!

Yes, in a sense I'll be listing reviews and comparing technical products with one another, maybe even start a forum someday! (I know there are many sites like this, but I have a special angle that might be able to give me a shot at least)

I vote for techmosphere. It's got a nice ring to it, easy to remember, and a big umbrella, will take a lot of different content easily.

thec spot one or techs pot one

thechmecka, like Alexa said, religious... I don't like it. Besides, at first, I thought you were going for some variation on mechanic(s).
