I was wondering if anyone wrote articles for a living such as using associatedcontent.com or constant-content.com or some site that sold your articles for you and do you have success in doing so?

I've checked out both and been disappointed in the results. Associatedcontent's rates are embarrassingly low and hardly worth the time and effort I spent writing the articles. And I've sold exactly one article on constant content. LOL It appears that some people do pretty well there, but I've just never been motivated to put more time into it because I know I can make much MUCH more in other ways. (like ghostwriting, selling PLR, etc.) Wendy |

I tried using Associated Content, but their rates were so low I just couldn't get motivated to follow through with it |

I had the same experience with Associated Content as Wendy and never checked out Constant Content. I basically write for my own sites and then there are a few people within different niches that I have known for years that I still write for. I use pen names and have content all over the web. Don't know if you were just talking about writing for hire or also including writing articles, ebooks, blog posts, and comments. I've been supporting myself by creating the above mentioned for years. I've seen some marketers say that they submit their articles to Associatedcontent first as non-exclusive, and earn a few bucks for it, then submit it to other directories to help promote their sites. I can see how that would generate a little extra money, but as far as I remember AC doesn't even allow you to have a bio box with a link. Unless a reader was motivated enough to google your name afterwards it seems pointless. I may be wrong on that bio part but that's what I seem to recall. Wendy |

For what it's worth, the only "site like that" from which I've personally known people to derive any significant income is Demand Studios (of which I have no personal experience anyway).

At this point, sites like Associated Content, Textbroker, Brighthub, and The Examiner can definitely provide a supplemental income for you, but not a living. Last month I made around 500 dollars total off of a couple of these sites. I don't have any experience with Demand Studios, but I've heard that they were good. Constant Content has the possibility of making some real money, but there's a chance you could invest a lot of time in to an article that doesn't sell for months. Give it a try. After a while you'll make some contacts and move on to bigger things. |

Demand Studios pays around $15 an article. Quite a few WAHM's make a full time income from this site alone. However, if you're interested in writing articles for a living, I'd suggest setting up a site of your own, putting up some samples, and posting an ad in the Warriors for Hire section. You might have to start out at a low rate, but you can quickly build up to a full time income if you provide your clients with high quality material. I'd also highly recommend Jenn Dize's Power Ghostwriting course, if you're interested in writing for marketers for a living. |
