I was wondering if you knew who the best webhosting company is, i have been checking out a lot of company´s and was wondering if you know what is good and what is bad with those lunarpages hostgator hostmonster i am going to choose in between those three. i like all of those alot and this is going to be my last and only choice on hosting company so i am going to do this right and choose the best but doesn´t have to be cheapest i want some real testimonials about them, not something fake they write on their websites.. if you get me, that would be great.. thanks everyone |

You should choose hostgator because it is the most trusted web hosting. And many internet marketing use hostgator as their host.

I use ipower.com and have ha no problems with them for over a year now. However it seems as if most people would recommend hostgator. So you could look for reviews about them to see the pros and cons.

I have had a website for over ten years and have used many hosting companies (both for myself and on behalf of clients). What web hosting company is "best" somewhat depends on your particular needs (and even then, it's still a subjective topic). Right now, I have accounts at HostGator, MidPhase and SEOHosting.com (a subsidiary of HostGator). While you will find others that disagree with me (and that's ok) I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with HostGator (been with them for about three years). The only thing I would suggest is to get an account with a dedicated IP address. The hosting will be "shared hosting" but you can still get a dedicated IP. This gives more protection than does an account with a shared IP. If someone else (with the same IP) is spamming, you can get yourself blacklisted. You might also consider "reseller" hosting (at HostGator or elsewhere) as it is more flexible and offers more ability to grow. Good luck with whatever you choose, Kevin |

Hostgator! I am so tempted to list the hostings that suck but I think I should keep my comments to myself. Go with hostgator, it has served me well from the beginning of my IM journey. |

I agree. But if you consider hosting Java-based apps, be sure to check mochahost. Their price is just 4.75, reseller 13.95. But if you are really interested in starting your own hosting company, you may try reseller account. Resellerzoom has the cheapest price starting at 5.95 a month. You can have up to 20 cPanel accounts branded as your hosting company name! Best of luck! |

I'm a total broken record on this question. Hostgator, hostgator, hostgator. Great service, great uptime, great support, great prices. I've been more pleased with Hostgator than any other host I've ever used.

I tried HostGator once and hated it. I use Dreamhost because I like their control panel. I know they get a bad rap sometimes but for the past 3 years or so I haven't had any issues with them at all.

I've several hostings and Hostagtor as well! :-) But it's good to have more than 1 - definitely. Lately there are some things that don't work on Hostgator but it's because Hostgator is used by some many IMers. :-) Marian |

Another vote for HostGator. Stay away from iPower - The file manager is horrible. There’s no provision to extract archives on the server. FTP connection from sites like net2ftp.com doesn’t work. |

I've not used any of those. I use Web and email hosting, domain names and dedicated servers - Fasthosts. I've compared their dedicated server price and features and I think they're very competitive. I've been with fasthosts for years, really good! Cheers, Lee. |

A friend recommended HostGator to me a month ago - but when I tried to sign up, they would not accept my credit card as payment until I scanned and emailed them both my credit card and my driver's license. ![]() This is a problem - I don't mind giving out my #'s, but actual scannings? That's too much for me - in these days of identity theft. Never had to do that before or since - I refuse to do it for the Crock. ![]() Dot |

Steer away from GoDaddy hosting, very far away. They're fine for domain names, but their hosting is slow, and the features you get for your cash are woeful.

I tried godaddy once, after waiting 3 days to get my account activated I gave up. Not sure if there was a problem, but had no feedback or errors ad no response to questions I sent. Went to fasthosts and had the service up in 10 mins (no joke!). Later I switched to a dedicated server, it's just so much easier and gives you the freedom to do what you like. Of course people have highlighted that all your domains are hosted on one IP address which means putting links on your own sites to your other sites doesn't really help with page ranking stuff. Cheers, Lee. |

I use GoDaddy, HostGator and HostNine. I highly recommend HostGator because I've always had good service from them. HostNine, I've only used for a short time but their geographically diverse reseller hosting is attractive if you're running a lot of sites. GoDaddy, I don't recommend. While their hosting has been reliable their upsell centered user interface is a pain to use and they support fewer scripts and often have little annoyances that can bug you, such as their htaccess refresh rate. |

Hi Warriors, Since we are on the subject of hosting. A colleague of mine recommended "Black Wire Hosting". Personally I had up until then, never heard of them. Tried the usual searches, but found no information of real value. I have a number of paid hosting accounts, but I am always on the look out for other reliable hosts - just in case! If it's not considered stealing the thread, I'd appreciate any feedback from Warriors who have used black wire hosting. Please do pm me on this one if you prefer not to post in open forum. Thanks and Regards, Jeff. |

| Not to rain on the parade, but I stay far away from anything that claims it's unlimited.....especially hosting. I like to know everything upfront, so I don't have a fight for my life when I least expect it. That includes bandwidth, diskspace, TOS, even how many emails per hour I'm allowed. That last hosting company that hid stuff on me until after I bought, I hightailed it out of there in 24 hours. I won't tell you their name, because crooks like that don't deserve the publicity. ![]() Lying salespeople, hiding your TOS from the general public, making promises I know for a fact can't be kept (like unlimited bandwidth and diskspace)....those kind of things scream scam from the rafters. As they say, once biten, twice shy. That's why I stay far away from hostgator......and I don't recomment them to anyone. |

I would recommend researching your picks on webhostmagazine.com or webhostingtalk.com. Both sites have been around a long time and can provide plenty of user experiences and reviews for about any host you could imagine.

I was with hostgator for about 1 year. Great service but were too expensive. Switched over to Zoom Hosting and have found their service to be as good as hostgator - for half the price. Hostgator now wants me back and have given me a 40% discount. Shop around and negotiate with them...dont pay what they advertise. |

I've been using DreamHost, and they've always treated me very well. That said, I'd probably go HostGator simply because of all the good things people say. |
