Two emails in one day?

Recently I launched a new ebook - please, don't ever do this a few days before July 4, you will regret it.

Anyway, with the upgrade of GetResponse I thought one of my messages - the final message to promote a $10 off offer - was lost, so made up a completely new one.

GetResponse ended up sending both out within hours of each other, and my sales were a bit higher than expected. Adding a countdown timer right above the ORDER NOW button didn't hurt, but still...

Have any of you emailed your lists twice in one day? What were the results?

Yes, some people unsubscribed, but I get that with any mailing and it wasn't a higher than average number.

I have emailed my list twice in a day but the two emails were not promotional.

As a matter of fact, I told them I would email them in the eve after sending out the first email in the morning!

It all depends on the relationship you have with your list. Treat them like a friend and they will be eager to hear from you!

I think you must not email your lists twice a day because it looks spam to them.

I don't mail two times a day on a regular basis but whether it works or not depends on you (meaning your personality), your market and how relevant your content is.

An insanely gifted marketer, named Matt Furey, mails twice a day almost every day and he absolutely kills it. However, it works for him because Matt is loved by his market and he sends out content/promos that are appreciated by them.

One of my mentors, Ray Edwards, uses the acronym PAR to teach solid email marketing practices. P - stands for "Personal" (meaning that your emails should relate to your subscribers on a personal level) A - stands for "Anticipated" (meaning that your subscribers should "expect" to get your emails and R - stands for "Relevant" (which means that every email you send should be completely relevant to the original reason the subscriber joined your list).

As far as anticipation is concerned, I think you should ease into sending out more emails. If you are only mailing once per week now and abruptly switch to 2 mails per day, I think you risk a high unsubscribe rate.

    Just my two cents.

It is funny that you mention Matt Furey. He is one of those marketers that I regularly "swipe" from......he is a great example of a list builder that does it the right way that IS NOT in the IM niche...

Really depends on the list . I have some list I email once a week. I have others I email every two days .

I know someone will tell me how wrong this is but .....

I funnel my list . almost all of my separate list have a years worth of content in them . If the list member has not been funneled onto a buyers list of some sort by the end of one year I come to only two conclusions .

They are either not capable of buying ( no credit card ) or are not going to buy and just sticking around for the free advice and software and such .

When this funneled down list of non buyers reaches maturity I hit the list hard for 30 days . This list can get two emails a day and several times a week. At the end of 30 days those that don't make some type of move are deleted from my system.

Now I also have a list of people that I mail to everyday . These are people that have been with me for a long time . They get all my freebies , advice , and new finds before anyone else . This is the only list that I have that is invitation only . They understand that since they are still part of another list that they could receive two emails in a day from me .

I had an assistant one time that I had given all my emails for the week to. I was promoting a new product of my own and at the same time was going on a week at the beach thing .

The assistant loaded all seven emails and hit broadcast instead of save . Yeah I had some really happy members on that list . had being the key word here .

I think everyone has missed what the OP said.

Have any of you emailed your lists twice in one day? What were the results?

He's not asking about (or doing) a mailing twice a day everyday. In fact, he said it was an happy accident. He's asking has anyone ever happened to send out two emails in the same day (perhaps a week after the last email, etc) by accident or on purpose; and what were the results.

Again, not 2 a day EVERY day, just occasionally. Am I right Cotum?

Nothing beats emails written like Matt Furey teaches.

Most marketers are lucky to have 1-5% of their list buying something, Matt has a massive list, and 40% are buyers.

I'd recommend his email course to everyone, and there's 2 for sale on ebay now.

I've done it several times. To me it all depends upon the quality of content that you deliver to your list.If they're getting great tips then they most likely will stary.

Remember that no one likes to be sold.

Twice a day mailing looks really spammy, you should afraid spamhouse in this case

    Done right, it's not spammy.

There's a big damn secret (sorry JC) that Matt Furey uses to engage readers, and have them looking forward to his emails everyday.

True, some people will hate getting loads of emails, but they aren't your buyers so don't worry about them.

There's loads of people who HATE Furey's approach, but so what.

As long as his subscribers love him (and many do), and as long as some of them buy from him (yep) and as long as his products are good (they are), he'll continue to earn millions more this year and in the future.

Matt Furey is one of the most successful online marketeers on the planet(yes, more successful than Kern and the rest in the IM game), and it's primarily due to his email strategies.

I have done this on rare occasions. (Only for a promotion) I really don't like for people to unsubscribe, so Its rare. It has however caused my clicks and opens to shoot through the roof. It can be a good way to wake up your list if you don't email them that much. It's worth a try, but not every day.
