How To Monetize My Site

I am looking or ways to monetize my website. Its a blog and has a forum on it as well.

I get a few clicks occasionally from adsense which add up to about $15-20 per month.

I have couple of affiliate links within the posts, but havent converted anything.

i get couple of enquiries about web design type of work which is pretty good.

I've tried applying for Text-Link-Ads and they have not accepted my site. I also noticed that when applying for TLA I am applying for InLinks program, is TLA dead? I am still getting some $$$ for sites that i have had in TLA for a while.

You can always find people who want to advertise in websites like yours.

    What's your pagerank mate?

I'm going to assume you are talking about your e-book site.

In which case I have several suggestions which I hope you do not take as criticism. I think you have a great niche going for you.

    • As a surfer, first thing I notice is that there are just way too many calls-to-action.
    • Get rid of non-relevant affiliate links (6 pack abs).
    • Your visitors will resent you for trying to imply they are overweight when they did not expect it. They don't care about 6 pack abs. That is not why they are on your site.
    • Get rid of whatever is not working. What is they point? Focus your site down. If the affiliate links are not working do not continue them.
    • Keep your winners! Cut your losers!
    • Have 1 clear call to action. What do you want? Is your goal to get them to opt-in? If so, use a lightsqueeze box to force them to make a decision on opting-in or not. Put time crunch on it. "Spots are limited and going fast! This could be your last chance to get in on this FREE ($1997 value) workshop"
    • Include a photo of yourself. Especially where your opt-in box is, where you are talking about "Would You Like To Find Out How We Develop Our Ebook Businesses?"
    • Who is "our"? Show a picture. Establish rapport.
    • Fill in your about page with information about yourself and your picture. Talk about ebooks and the frustration of selling them and how you know how to solve that problem. Include an opt-in there after you have sympathized with them.
    • All blog posts should add some kind of value to your surfer.
    • (Tip: If they don't and you are only using them for SEO, past-date them so they don't show up on the homepage and only good content shows up on the homepage)
    Good luck on your site

      thanks for your input guys.

I will rework it a little.

Meanwhile do you know of any program like TLA that would pay for having their links on my site.

The PR is 2 at the moment
