How important is design/branding to you as an internet marketer and your business?
#branding #design #design or branding #graphic #important

It is vital. If you are not a travelling man, I doubt you would understand, but lets just say it is important to advertise your business affiliations.

Nowadays good design is very much important because it creates trust.
If your website looks like 1997 then it will very much cause suspicion in your potential buyer.
Whenever I get on a website that looks awful I think I might get a virus or something.

100% agree.. a good modern theme & layout advertising crap will do better than a crappy theme giving away gold..

This couldn't be more wrong for a lot of local business sites. You definitely do not want to call a plumbing company that uses bootstrap and some flat design for example. The image given is that they haven't been around very long, and that the workforce is young and inexperienced.

1997 is pushing it, with splash screens and flash, but a site that looks 10 years old can be ideal. You'll want to show the site is updated regularly and not an abandoned page, but that's about it. You will convert 8x better in some cases with adwords. It could be even more.

If you look at what CNN and more recently ESPN has done with their sites, you will see they are now less credible. ESPN's redesign fixed some issues, but user trust it low, and there is no feel to distinguish it from the many other media blogs. CNN is a pretty advanced setup, but they are only exploiting current trends in user behavior, and they have mortgaged their brand's image in perpetuity to do it. They've stooped to using the abominable sentence case, and made the whole site a gawker clickbait trap.

CNN of course lost it's any journalistic integrity around 2000, but the old school cable news watchers still thought of it as a trusted brand. Now with the way media works, users will finally make the connection that blogs that don't bother to vet sources or adhere to long held standards in journalism look exactly like CNN.

Probably more important than any other aspect of business. Because your name and brand will be the important part of business when people decide to buy from you.

Branding is extremely important! A good design and a great logo (yeah, I also believe the logo is important for branding, if not the most important element) inspires trust to everyone who visits your website.

Back when I started out, we were told not to bother with branding... the folksier your site is the better the average will like it and buy your product.

Reality is that anyone can grab a logo on Fiverr etc and look pro... and still be a hack or dishonest.

    Trust? Deliver massive value.

Brand? HAve a unique angle or USP.

That said, I have moved away from mini-sites... people like familiarity and subconciously, they will trust something familiar.

Meh. If you are doing authority sites, its important, if you are doing EMD's or Amazon affiliate sites or MFA sites, probably not so much.

If you are going to BE someone online, you definitely need a site brand and design, if you are skirting around the edges doing CPA and content locking and stuff like that, it makes virtually no difference.

People remember you by your brand and the way your products are designed. On the other hand you don't wanna spend months designing things. Pick something that looks good and edit it later once things are rolling.

Branding is without a doubt, critical for any long term business. It's all about trust and authority.

On the other hand, design is quite subjective and it will vary between your target audience.

Just remember that first impression does go along way.

If you want people to return to your author to share your content, branding is huge - right up there with quality content. Anyone who tells you different is clearly an amateur. Think about it - who runs a business and doesn't care about branding????

The most important part of your business in my opinion. Picking a name is important, but I have seen inferior names dominate if the design and branding is done correctly. I think the future of making money online will have to do with branding and building customer trust. For me, I only work on companies that I have a long term vision for the brand in mind.

If you're starting a new business, branding is the path to your bread-and-butter, and it should be a priority in your marketing plan. If for nothing else, AdWords works great for this. In fact, Google pretty much promotes AdWords as a branding tool! (I won't get into the why, of course...)
